59508, Can anyone help me on this please?

okay here's how it goes. I have a star stage 1 kit on my 96 Eclipse rs and it ran fine for about a year then the wastegate (delta) started malfunctioning probably seized like what I hear alot about these wastegates. Well anyways, the car started running shitty like sometimes it would go over boost and sometimes it was lagging and seems like it just didin't want to go. Well the next thing I knew, White smoke started coming out of my exhaust and oil coming out of my oil breahter hose (blowby). Took the engine apart and sure enough three hairline cracked pistons. Well, I replaced the pistons with Wiseco forged 8.5.1. compression pistons but have not yet replaced the wastegate. still working on it so the car still runs shitty and my air/fuel gauge is reading real lean that is probably why my stock pistons blew in the begining. if I were to replace the wastegate, do you all think that will solve my problem of running lean and shitty? What do you all think? Oh yeah by the way does anyone know where I can get the diaphram or blue print for the the fcd install? Thanks.

i dont know too much about wastegates to be honest, however.. i doubt that a wastegate will make you run lean or rich.

what size injectors are you running? whats your idle fuel pressure? how much boost and how much full at full boost? sfmu or fmu?

please give more info.

I'm running with my stock injectors and only suppose to being running 5lbs with the stage one set-up and am using the Vortech fmu that came with the Star kit. I have a fuel pressure gauge but haven't install it yet. Since I got the Wiseco pistons put in I am still working on upgrading to stage two using a starion front mount intercooler. As of right now I'm still concentrating on this problem. When you accelerate from a dead stop, the car is already lagging and the air/fuel gauge is reading really lean but once you hit the rpm where the turbo starts to spool then it shoots up to super rich. I don't get it? Does the fcd or crank angle sensor have something to do with this? Please fill me in with your knowledge. Thanks

what disk are u runnin with the sfmu? it sounds like ur idle fuel pressure is to low then once the sfmu sees boost it throws in to much fuel.

i think at 5 psi w/ stock injectors ur suppose to run the darker spring on the vortech sfmu with i believe the 12:1 disk?? and set idle fuel pressure around 52 and boost pressure i think its like 80-85 that will be on the rich side

I have an air/fuel gauge, exhaust temperature gauge,a boost gauge and a fuel gauge but I haven't hooked up the fuel gauge yet. My air/fuel gauge reads lean when i start to accelerate but once I get to that certain rpm then it shoots up to rich but during all this time the car would feel like it has no power. Does anyone have the diagram of how to hook up the fuel-cut-defencer? Oh yeah my exhaust temperature gauge would read 1,600 F and I am not even pushing it because my wastegate is screwed and am still working on replacing it.
