I had one
it worked pretty good.
there are alot of features on it, but getting so may parameters together for boost control is a little tricky. it took me a while to get a boost curve that I liked. Then I bought Greddy's new Profec e-01 and that boost controller rocks. The boost settings are simple, you can immediately see the affects of your changes to the boost contol parameters. I personally like the greddy unit way more than the apexi unit. They are both good units, but the greddy is my preference. The main problems i had with the avcr was that in order to make the boost increase quickly you had to use certain settings, but those same settings would make my set boost unstable. when set, the boost gauge would hover back and forth around my preset boost setting, i could never totally get rid of this phenomena with the avcr. but the greddy unit is super stable. you mash the gas, the boost gauge goes to your setting and it stays there. no movement. This puzzled me at first becasue the avcr and the e-01 use the same boost control solenoid. maybe it is the processor or something.

Thanks man, Ill look into that one!

Does it have the ability to set boost per gear? I really want one that will run low boost in 1st and then go up once I put it into 2nd.

Yeah, the AVC *TYPE R*. I feel the need to get all technical with it. Thier is only 1 of them. :P + I try not to say things like 'type r', it makes me think I own a honda.

the gear based boost on the avcr only allows you to modify the duty cycle per gear. You could make it so you get less boost in the lower gears and higher in the higher gears. I think it is mainly used for stabilizing the boost in each gear due to the varying load between gears.

Sup etx. I have the AVC-R but haven't really got to know the thing. My car was tuned by someone and he set it at the right boost for me so I didn't really even bother messing with the thing until I know what I'm doing. I'll talk to you on AIM about it.

hrm, yeah but does the e-01 do that? My main concern is being able to automatically set it to 5 psi of boost in 1st, 12 psi in 2nd and 20 psi in 3rd. This is all an attempt to keep my car on the ground at the track.

How do you change it to say psi instead of mmHG?
