I know someone who can answer your every questions. His name is Search. Find him and type in Turbo install or which turbo or anything including turbo and he will find answers to your every question. He is Father Knowledge.

bad choice of words for someone who would've helped you walk through the install.

I recommend you first spell properly, improve your grammar, and then use a search. ;)

yeah. here is something for you.

you don't know what your doing.

^ This just explains everything. you don't know what your talking about and everyone else around here does. Knowing, that, click on search and try different key words and you are sure to come up with many answers. and as soon as you know what a 20g turbo is, what a fmic is and how much a stage III even costs. come back here and use that knowledge to ask Mr. Search more questions. then eventually you'll come to the point where you are almost fully knowledgeable. People can't do this for you. I've been here for a couple years and am just getting a grip on turbo systems and their fuel setups. read every post you don't understand until you've searched completely through the archives. and if your too lazy, do you think anyone else is any less lazy to help you out? i am WAYY too lazy to help someone who can't help themselves.

geez why dont you help the poor kid out instead of critisizing(sp?) on his spelling and grammar. this board is suppose to be about helping new people that want to better themselves and their car, i dont think this is a spelling bee or anything like that. and honestly coming from a mod that aint right.

If he wanted to better himself, he would search first, read everything he can, leartn as much as he can, THEN ask questions. It sounds more like he's wanting someone to hold his hand during the install, tuning, etc.. that's not what we're here for.

No offense or anything, but if you're going to do this, you have to learn a lot yourself first. Turbocharging a 2GNT is not something you can just jump headlong into and expect to have both a happy owner and a happy car. The more you know, the farther you will get. That is all we're trying to say, and you don't sound like you know enough to be building a motor, installing a turbo kit, and tuning a fuelsystem.

And yes, there are people in your area. Try search for your zipcode on the Members Search on the 2gnt.com main site.

first of all i would like to appreciate the one person who did try to back me up some... for the rest of u all trying to act like u are superior than me just because u kno something about a turbo. I've been reading post on here since last year, i've just decided to make a name, and get some help on mainly the fuel set-up and what is the best way to tune my 20g turbo, i kno the basics and what not, no need for u to jump on my back just because i was looking for advice, im not to layzie to do this project by my self, just wanted to get some tutoring and some more knowledge, im not sure why u are questioning how im talking, when half of u use words like w3rd and pwd and all that, thats acrynoms, but whats the difference between ur layzieness and mine, its my style and if u don't like it fine
stuck ups

Shit guys... what's so wrong with his question? He's clearly a novice and admits it, but he knows that a Hahn Stage 3 with s20G is an effective choice, that he needs a good fuel system, that it should be tuned on a dyno, and that he doesn't have enough experience to do it alone. Damn... read the last line and you'll notice that his request is for someone willing to give good advise.

Stop being BIATCHES about his spelling and lack of knowledge... he specifically said he was just looking for someone locally or on the board to learn from and maybe help out.

Way to welcome a new member, eh? :thumbsdown

hey man, there is nothing wrong with asking questions...you may get flamed...much like you did here...it just happens once in a while. My best sugestion is maybe not going with a stage 3 right off the bat...and going with a stage 2...that way you wouldn't have to worry about the rebuild. I've read through the hanh instructions and anyone with any mechanical knoledge can get through it. And if you get stuck you can come to board and ask questions. But you have to grow a thick skin because things like this thread can and do happen. Good luck with you project.

That's probably the best choice if you're thinking about turbocharging your Eclipse. When it's released, which will be soon, I believe it will be the single most cost effective power increase available in the 2GNT market today.

>>only problem is i don't know how to install the kit

It's not that hard, and comes with instructions. I have the complete HRC and Star instructions on my computer if you'd like to study them.

>>nor do i kno enough about how to tune at the dyno

There's a great thread in the Advanced Tuning section about dyno tuning. Even Super20G, who owns one of the most modded 2GNTs around, asked for advise about dyno tuning. The operators of the specific dyno you choose will be able to help you out with that. The HRC kits, out-of-the-box, can be quickly configured to get a good start of tuning. A dyno session or few will help you fine tune your fuel pressure for maxium output or drivability.

Just post your questions on the forums here. Most of the users here will be more than happy to give their 2 cents worth. I sure you know, but most of the answers have been asked before and can be found by searching or browsing the Things Seen Before section. As Dino said, you can search for local members from the main site, 2gnt.com

Exactly! I didn't come right out of the bat and say,"your a dumb n00b searc!" but someone did that for me. And the original poster said that he/she did. They also come to say that they have been reading the boards for over a year now. HONESTLY, if you have actually been reading the boards for over a year and wanted to know how turbos worked/installed. you probably would have done a little research on it in the last 365 days.
Yes, that is one year, I will save you a search.

But when someone says they've searched and read posts on here for over a year, i just don't see how they can't know how a turbo system would be installed. or atleast the basics. knowledge will spawn more knowledge. its called learning. There wasn't anything wrong with his first question. it was his reply. i still stick to search. i think i've never been told that. and if so maybe 1 time. trust me, you can get by on here without asking a lot of those questions. I'll see if i can't find links that are READILY AVAILABLE to the other 4999 uers before you that have asked this question.

god damn update time. I had a nice helpful post update written out. so now i'll have to chop it down and make it ugly.

1) JUST TRY and search for "fuel setup"

You will get numerous hits on installing fpr's and lots of side information you might not know. You will also get hits on sfmu's. do you know what an sfmu is, what it does and how it works? if not, read. read anything you don't understand, especially if its in the turbo section. do this for a few hours and come back with a better quetion then, "what is a good fuel setup".

If you haven't bought a copy of "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell, go to the bookstore and get it. You may have to order it. Read it, then try to get a copy of the HRC install instructions. Read them and you will be pretty familiar with how a basic turbo kit installs and works.

Feel free to shoot me an e-mail with any specific questions. I'm in NoVa and can offer a good bit of advice.

I'd also like to add that turbocharging a NA car is not a task to be taken lightly. It is very dangerous and only the careful, knowledgeable, and lucky will survive with engines intact.

Good explaination. If you need any other help i'm here. But please only ask me questions you CAN'T FIND! i know, i've gotten lots of help on things i just could not find. search google.com it has info too even if it isn't specific to 2gnts.

420AYE- Sheesh... you've replied to this thread 4 TIMES and haven't offered a single bit of tech info. Stop ranting about using the search and telling people not to post questions until they've read the ENTIRE ARCHIVE, that's unreasonable. :rolleyes

(back on-topic)
Maximum Boost really is a great book for both beginners and pros. www.howstuffworks.com and www.turbomagazine.com are also good places for misc. turbo and engine info.

edit:
Check out www.armond30.com too... great info about the 420A and 2GNT DSMs throughout the entire site. :thumbsup
