Okey so I took the head off... the kometic gasket that i had looks fine no tears or really anything that my eyes could see that looks out of the normal... when i first took the head off i thought i could see a crack in one of the rings on #1... but im not sure..

I didn't see anything that really stood out.. no visible block damage nothing real out of the norm. there was however, a lot of antifreeze in #4 but i'm not sure if that's from lifting the head off the remaining from what was inside the head?

in the antifreeze galleys on number 3 and 4 the antifreeze looks muddy.. kinda like milky..like it has been mixed with oil... I have turned the crank a few times and didn't see any cracks or block damage...

I have some pictures maybe somebody see's something i don't see... the gap on #1 compared to the gap on #2-4 around the cylender wall looks a little different but i dono..

Should I take the pistons out? What should be my next step...
I'm kinda frustrated and don't know what i should do next...

I really need suggestions.

what was wrong to begin with? You say you see a gap in the top piston ring, but most pistonrings will have a small gap. i need more info to help you.

Your rings have Gaps in them in order to allow for expansion. If there is a gap between the ring and the cylinder wall then you stuck a ring. Everything looks normal on the bottom end. I would take a closer look at the head. Also look at the cylinder bore for cracks. You can coat your cylinder wall with lithium grease and turn the motor over. all of the grease should get wiped off by the rings. If not you have a problem. Also what rings did you use.

Yea man you should pull those pistons and examine them. I mean come on now. It only takesa bout 20 min to pull them from the point your at now.

I will post some pictures of the head tonight.... I may be thinking i have a bad head.. but the entire problem was i heard a little bit of knocking noise and then i did a compression check and i got this

#1 60psi #2 150 #3 152 #4 150

I'm thinking it's the head too but i think i'm going to try that greese deal... then i will pull the pistons.... i'm actually thinking eaither a cracked block or a bad head.

I use the HRC rings. I'm so frustrated with all this... The only thing i didn't replace where the valves and the head was port polished and milled I don't know if i should just yank all my nice internal's out and buy an other block or used motor and have that one done or use this one... I really need suggestions..... should i figure out what's wrong with this one first? Where can i get the grease?

you can get lithium grease from the hardware department of home depot, they keep it next to the wd40.
