If not, then can someone explain why? I don't know a lot about NOS, but I can get a 75 or 100 shot kit for free if I want it.

You can, but not above a 50hp shot, and even that is pushing it. Dry systems are somewhat out dated, and unsafe. I recommend a Zex or NX brand wet nitrous kit and wouldn't do above 35 if your concerned about the life of your engine (unless it's rebuilt of course).

Justin, I dont know much about nitrous but a 75 shot is pushing it.. some people run 75-100 shots and they work but I'd say with 50-70 shot to make sure nothing blows :) and i'm not exactly sure what's the diff between dry/wet. I do know the 95s have some weird fuel rail system or something that makes them different from the rest or something?

The people running above 50 shots are using wet kits. A wet kit supplies the fuel needed, a dry kit relies on your stock fuel system (bad!, if you lean out your engine's toast). The difference with 95's fuel system is that the fuel filter is located in the engine bay, and there might be some other difference like the rest of you guys (I'm '95) might not have the fuel pressure regulator on the end of the fuel rail or something, I forgot.

Justin, hey bro, andrew (spolin gs) got you lookin for more power too huh.:7 You can use a dry kit on your car since it is a 95 and the fpr is on the fuel rail, but like they mentioned it does rely on your stock fuel system and if you go lean KABOOM. You may be able to use a bigger fuel pump to over come this though. Then you shouldn't have to worry about a lean condition. Talk to a guy called Docwhiplash in the nitrous forum, he's running a dry system and gave me some really good info on it.:thumbsup

If you really care about your car do NOT run a dry kit. I would get the kit for free and purchase the parts to convert it to a wet setup. If you run dry plan on purchasing a new motor very soon.

do a wet kit. not dry. I had a wet 75 shot of NX in my 95 talon. Its going into my new eclipse right now. works great. I wouldnt recommend the dry.

You can, but it's a waste of money if you can just turn up the boost. Using a nitrous kit w/ a turbo (wet only) you get exponential power increases, a 35 shot would be like a 75 shot on a N/A engine, because your turbo will spool faster than your waste gate can exhaust. Turbo + Nitrous = Blown Engine, unless you really know what your doing.

i wonder if there is a way to prevent yourself from leaning out with the dry kit by using it in conjunction with a fuel pressure riser, like the vortech FMU, since in a sense nawz is forced induction...it would be an ingenious design.

How can you convert a dry kit to a wet one? How much would it cost as well. I might just get it, and try to sell it.

I would sell it, you can't really convert it. Basically the only thing you'd be re-using is the tank.

What if the engine is rebuilt? Then can I use a wet kit with the turbo? Doesnt HRC use a wet kit?(150 shot) or do they use dry?

Oh yeah, if your engine can handle it nitrous is great get for outputting more horsepower when your turbo is max'd out or it's so big and your trying to get it to spool sooner.

When HRC did their 10 second run, they were running 16 psi and when they used their 150 shot of nitrous it put the boost to 22 psi.

teh nawzzz is not forced induction. On a NA car nos is at atmospheric pressure, it contains a higher concentration of o2 so you can burn more gas. that is all. If you used a rising rate fpr you would have no way to control it when your not spraying and you would run pig rich all the time. The dry kit injects only n2o into your intake, it depends on your stock fuel system to inject the proper amount of gas to burn. that is bad, our cars cannot handle it in stock form. The wet kit has 2 injectors, one for n2o and 1 for gas. You install the proper sized nozles on each injector and when you hit the nawzzz it opens both injectors and injects the n2o with the proper amount of gas. Ill say it again, do not run dry its for tards. sell the kit to a honda guy and get the NX wet kit. Its only $600 without the extras like the bottle heater and remote bottle opener.

I have a quick question, why is it that most places I look it says wet kits are for non turboed models only.?

I have never run n2o so I am not sure on that. Maybe direct port is used more w/ turbo. Could have something to do with the lack of vacume factor. Try posting in the turbo/nitrous forum mabye someone there will know.

hmm just wondering if you have a turbo fuel system on your car (IE, FMU, fuel pump) does that mean you could run a dry kit more reliable just looking at some possibilities :P

you can run a dry system its works fine, i have been running dry for about a year, but dry only works on 95 and some 96 models with the fpr on the end of the fuel rail, as far as fuel the kit comes with a fuel pressure riser of sorts and raises fuel pressure when activated, so you are not running rich all the time, dry systems work fine despite popular opinion:thumbsup
