ye gads, just one more tenth. I shoulda made a second pass last Sunday! But my reasoning was to save it for this weekend...there's an Import Wars up at Great Lakes, and we'd like to go there and wow the crowd.

BTW, by no means was the 10.87 a perfect pass...engine almost bogged off the line, as I will apparently need to turn up the two-step RPM to accomodate the additional 'grab' of the new clutch linings. I saved the pass by spraying early (mid of first gear) and got the usual 'BANG' out of the exhaust from the rev limiter in first (happens almost every time I spray it early, the RPM rise rate is amazing when I hit the juice in first)! Add to that, my shifting was a bit slow and tentative due to the car having been hard to shift as of late...but I was delighted to learn that the new clutch ALSO fixed this - the car hasn't shifted this good since it was stock!

So, with a better leave and faster shifting, the 10.70's may be in reach. Anything is possible at this point, as the car is starting to work amazingly well after a summer of improvements and tuning. The 7.14 @ 109 1/8 mile should go into the 7.0's with a good leave!

So, I'm SO ready for this weekend.

For dessert: The car has made so many passes, showing so little stress, at the 150 HP nitrous level that I am confident it is time to try the 200 shot (I can go 250!!!!)

:7

The last time we tried the 200 shot, the car was a freakin rocket, but drove through the clutch in 3rd gear...finally overcoming the Stage IV clutch at over 600 HP...amazing it held as long as it did! This is why we put in the twin-disc clutch...to prepare for 200 HP or more nitrous.

I'll make one pass with the 150 shot; if it's good, in go the big jets. No guts, no glory...
