Not all racing is done at Rt. 66. This pass was made at Byron Dragway.

Bill how much boost pressure you running and was that with or without nitrus?
58485, RE: 10.87 @ 136!
Posted by HRC, Oct-13-03 11:33 AM
Yes, 150 shot NX in full bloom in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th...the nitrous drives the boost level to about 23 PSI...without the juice it sees about 16 PSI (Stage IV max boost, good enough for low 12's / hi 11's)...

Hey Jason that list needs some serious updating. I saw a GSX go 9.9 @147 with no nitrous a couple weeks ago at the local track in Orlando. And Shepard is missing from that list also. He runs 8's.

BILL.....You have to let us know what fuel system you gusy are using. My guess is 8 injectors.

Yep, quickest FWD 2G ever...and if we can get another tenth out of her, we'll have the 3rd quickest 2G DSM overall, INCLUDING AWD cars! Gotta love that 420A...

No, it was not on street tires...nothing exists to hook up this kind of FWD power. We use slicks for best performance with minimal driveline stress.

Great job! Congrats on getting the RS into the 10s! :thumbsup :7

The fastest 2G FWD is a 420a car, heh heh I'm sure that doesn't sit well with the 4g63 squad. And ONE MORE TENTH and you'll have the 3rd fastest 2G, PERIOD! You know what you have to do before the end of the racing season then ;)

And, defenitely take it to the shootout next year! You'll clean house.

ye gads, just one more tenth. I shoulda made a second pass last Sunday! But my reasoning was to save it for this weekend...there's an Import Wars up at Great Lakes, and we'd like to go there and wow the crowd.

BTW, by no means was the 10.87 a perfect pass...engine almost bogged off the line, as I will apparently need to turn up the two-step RPM to accomodate the additional 'grab' of the new clutch linings. I saved the pass by spraying early (mid of first gear) and got the usual 'BANG' out of the exhaust from the rev limiter in first (happens almost every time I spray it early, the RPM rise rate is amazing when I hit the juice in first)! Add to that, my shifting was a bit slow and tentative due to the car having been hard to shift as of late...but I was delighted to learn that the new clutch ALSO fixed this - the car hasn't shifted this good since it was stock!

So, with a better leave and faster shifting, the 10.70's may be in reach. Anything is possible at this point, as the car is starting to work amazingly well after a summer of improvements and tuning. The 7.14 @ 109 1/8 mile should go into the 7.0's with a good leave!

So, I'm SO ready for this weekend.

For dessert: The car has made so many passes, showing so little stress, at the 150 HP nitrous level that I am confident it is time to try the 200 shot (I can go 250!!!!)

:7

The last time we tried the 200 shot, the car was a freakin rocket, but drove through the clutch in 3rd gear...finally overcoming the Stage IV clutch at over 600 HP...amazing it held as long as it did! This is why we put in the twin-disc clutch...to prepare for 200 HP or more nitrous.

I'll make one pass with the 150 shot; if it's good, in go the big jets. No guts, no glory...

News at 10.xx,
Bill

I'd like to thank all of you for your support and kudos. We'd never have ventured to build a 10 second 2GNT car if it wasn't for you folks! No, it's true...

Without your demand, we'd never have designed the turbokit in the first place.
Without your enthusiasm, 'The 2GNT Movement' would not have grown.
Without your determined support of 'The Mission' and your defense of us and others of 'The Movement', we'd have been trampled by all the 4G63 racists.
Without your willingness to share information, no one of us (Including me!) would be as far as we are.
And without 'The Movement', there would be no reason for us to be here.

A thousand thanks to every one of ya,

Bill I need info on the fuel system my man, I already have the LSD, axles, the engine upgrades, a crane ignition and a big ass turbo. I think the only things I'm missing are slicks, NOS and your fuel system. Please serve up some info my friend. I'm starting to wonder if I could get there with what I have, plus the NOS and slicks. Now the only problem is I will need 20 years of practice to drive it as fast as you. Thanks for taking a spearhead on "the movement" friend, without you there would only be a motion, not a movement.

Guess I just missed you today. Swung by the shop since I was in town but Kris said you were out and about. Had a pretty good chat with her for a bit, and of course she was remaining very tight lipped about the fuel system no matter how hard I tried. Found it funny though with all the ladies in the front and while I was there one of the guys(who shall remain nameless unless you wanna dime him out Bill) got some flowers delivered to him...LMAO The few cars I saw sitting around looked good, wish it wasn;t so close to SEMA and I coulda got a wlk through of "mission control" Oh well , maybe next time..... Congrats on the numbers, keep up the good work :thumbsup

My guess is 8 injector setup. There is no other way.

Well unless I was getting some smoke and mirrors tossed at me yesterday, Kris told me that it was not an 8 injector setup even though there has been some dabbling with them in the past. Guess we all need to sit tight until the first week of November to await the unveiling after SEMA.......

no. there must be another way. i refuse to molest my intake manifold, i'm sure there are a lot of people on here that agree with me. the chrysler engineers know more about injector placement than i do. there must be a good way to run 4 large injectors (larger than 440's) without a DFI. my guess is the engineers at HRC designed a pulsewidth translator that takes the original pulsewidth coming from the ECU and narrows it by a certian scalar depending on boost pressure. just a guess though. i don't know much about fuel injection design but at this point that's all i can think of.

I know one thing .....When this thing coems out and is available I will be one of the first to buy it. I am in desparate need of a new fuel system. I am running 440's with the cartech and I am running 15psi. My fuel system is crappy. I cant tune it for shit. I just run hella rich. I dont dare touch the safc because when I ran into MANY problems wiht it in the past whne I was trying to lean it out to much with it. I guess I wil patiently wait until November.

I bet I can release it right now, Propane... Raise the octane level. with the propane and nitrous I bet that bitch would be a beast!}(

Pulsewidth modification.. good idea.. although i'm tending to lean toward an active electro-mechanical FPR

"pulse signal interceptor" i got my money on it.

that would be nice if the new fuel system came with its own fuel computer or even a electronic EFI mod or something. that way when the engine looked into the ECU's memory to tell how long the injector pulse duration should be it would be set, that way ensuring the perfect a/f ratios. this new computer or chip would use the stock efi system and its sensors (map, tps, etc...) it would also ideally come with injectors and a guideline for what boost you wanted to run.

but yea, we have been waiting since july!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHH, lol get it to us already sheesh

I fucking LIVE in the town of byron, mere seconds from the track, and I wasn't there. And to add insult to injury, I am just now hearing about the pass.

WTF?!

(p.s. congratulations. Almost makes me wish I had a HRC kit instead of my Star kit.)

Yeah Brad, PLEASE Take some video of your runs this weekend!

I like my 8 injector setup, I couldn't ask for anything more. I hope I don't have to remove the 8 injector setup to install the HRC system because I am buying it as SOON as its released!

Keep up the good work!! :thumbsup :bowdown

Unfortunately, we did not get a video of the pass.

Hey, btw: I have been submitting the new times as they have occurred to the dsmtimes.org page. They have been unresponsive as far as posting the times:thumbsdown

Anyone else have this problem over there?

I don't think they've updated it in quite a long time. I've heard others complain of the same problem.

Dont hold your breath for them to update it. Several years ago when I had the quickest 1/4 for all motor, Shaun Frank and I sent my slip/info in multiple times and it never got updated, ever. Hell, my name still isnt on the list.

Congrats on the pass Bill, sweet times :thumbsup
