58122, good boost controllers? Posted by injendsm, Oct-08-03 11:22 AM
ill be saving up for a turbo kit and the supporting mods in december and i was wondering what boost controller to get. id like electronic but i dont want to blow my money on one thing. id rather get something that will work good for less money so i have more to spend elsewhere. that got me thinking about a manual boost controller. i was just curious as to what is the best type to get? is turbo xs any good? i also remember hearing about a joe p mbc or somethin like that. thanks for any help:thumbsup

Turbo XS has some very good ones. They have 3 kinds. The Dual Stage, the high performance mbc and the regular mbc which is what I have. I guess I'm happy with mine, but I just dont' get the desired boost I want in 3-5th gear at wot. It's about 5psi less then what it would be in 1-2nd gear. I highly doubt I have vacuum leaks. If you don't want wheel spin, I suggest the dual stage boost controller. I wish I'd gotten that instead, seeing how I have extreme case of wheel hop.

I have the Turbo XS dual stage. Kicks ass IMO. No boost creep/inaccurate boost levels.

I agree with the TurboXS endorsements. I had one on my Eclipse (Stage 4 for the new guys) and have one on my Evo now. Cheap and reliable; spend all the money you save over an EBC on something that will make you car faster. }(
