Rebuiling my blo9ck atm for turbo.. i want to get the Hahn Racecraft Front Mount Intercooler with 20gTurbo kit found the kit for 3995$ and was wondering if this Howell Automotive Bottom end kit would support this turbo if i was pushing 24psi with a boost controller... about 7-9psi normal driven.The following is my kit im thinkin of buying.This kit costs 1199$

2.0 Performance Bottom end Long Rod Kit:

Kit Includes: Clevite 77 or Federal Mogul Rod Bearing Set Clevite 77 or Federal Mogul Main Bearing Set Total Seal Piston Rings Mopar Oil Pan Gasket Set (includes rear main seal) Melling Oil Pump Eagle Specialty Forged Long Rods these rods are 0.136 longer than stock. Long rod engines increase torque, by increasing piston dewell time at TDC. Special JE Pistons to accept the long rods.
Available options :

pistons: 8.6 - 10.5 - 12.5
bore size: standard - .020 over - .030 over - .040 over
main bearing size: standard - 25mm (.010in) - 50mm (.020in)
rod bearing size: standard - 25mm (.010in) - 50mm (.020in)

Anyways, this is in the "Things we've seen before" section at least 20 times. :) Go check it out, good info there. The typical Howell kit you want is 8.6 compression, .020 over bore, std. rod, std. main. Talk to your engine machinist first before buying parts.

7-9 psi daily, and 24psi race..that is a bit of a gap there...:P

I think the bottom end will hold, but might need to go with Crowers. Oh, and you will probably need more than just then bottom end kit fo do 24 psi.

Use the board to your benefit. I do suggest search. But something you really should look at is www.vtengines.com I can see what you want. The biggest badddest set-up. But ask all those that have it, it took money, patience, a step by step upgrade and time. And sometimes trial and error. Start with a good solid foundation and the rest will come together very nice. Set yourself short term and long term goals. And make sure you stick to them. But be realistic it can work or fail depending on you. Many of us have bailed out, others still go strong with excellent results. That's all I can say. Wish you the best.:-)

well my friend runs i think 9 daily and 19 when racing.... but he is upgrading to a t-66 turbo.. he wants to push 30, he's looking for 600-700ish hp... im really going for 450/500ish hp.... was told that they have boost controllers that can boost your turbo up to 24psi but may be wrong.I want a rock solid block and then i was going to do the turbo set up... was thinkin about pushing like 7-9 daily then like the 18-19 with boost controller.. until i get enought money to totally rebuild my head so nothin goes wrong there either..and so my engine gets worked in a little... then i want to start running more pounds.

i think they were referring more to your fuel setup.... its going to take a pretty damn nice fuel setup to run that much boost

i dont think you understand the work that goes into making your car fast, and making it not break. i work on my car like.... twice a day, make sure everything is going good.

ok and what kind of car is your friend driving? most likely not the same car you have. with a good bottom end you will be able to push that ammount of hp(tuned correctly).. but it will take a lot more than that to make it run right and not blow up on you.
