i haven't been able to boost at 16lbs for a couple weeks.. 5 lbs of boost is fine.. here is what i have.. 440cc injectors, sfmu, dark spring, 2.72" disk, accell inline pump and walbro intake..

(16lbs of boost) when i floor it.. my fuel pressure goes up to 90psi.. about the time i hit 13 or 14lbs of boos.. my car starts studdering.. but eventually will pull itself out of it..

if i lightly get into it and eventually have it floored.. the studdering doesn't happen and i hit 16lbs of boost just fine.

i noticed tonight a huge cloud of black smoke just after i started studdering.. i have a feeling im running too rich, but my fuel pressure should be right for 16lbs of boost with 440cc injectors.

for awhile i thought it might be a fuel leak and that i was running lean.. i did actually find a fuel leak which i fixed today..

does anyone have any suggestions? im going to have a buddy of mine hook up his wideband so we can see.. but thats not till the weekend..

do I remember correctly that you have modded the sfmu vaccuum restrictor?

i dont even have the restrictor in.. i have never used it.

just remember.. the key is.. it has been working just fine. i dyno'ed at 329 with this setup.

was that with the fuel leak, running lean?

could it be that at your levels of boost, that you are quickly flooding with the sfmu.

i suppose its possible.. but.. i dont see why cause the car has been running like this for a few weeks till it started doing this.

It probably doesn't have anything to do with it. you will most likely find your answer on the wideband.
I would probably until then just try to find any other symptoms that are happening. like signs of a bad ecu temp sensor, or map sensor (change the filter in your missing link if you are using one).

spark plugs. check your gap. for your application .028" would be perfect.

my plugs are at like 40.. whatever they come with when you get them.

also.. i just check one of my plugs.. the base of the plug.. where the threads are.. it is very dark.. gummy crap..

on the post for the plug and the arm going to the end of the plug are white.

I had studdering at 7 psi. I was too rich. Changed to the 2.72" disc and it stopped. I am on 310cc injectors though, and I have a feeling the rise rate of the 2.72" disc might be a bit steep for 440s..

try the 3.** disk and use the bleed valve

I wouldn't start swapping disks until you get a better idea of whats going on. You should probably wait for the wideband.

Yeah wait for the wideband man. It sounds like you have a rich spot from hell though.

Definitely not the 3" disc... the bigger discs have a steeper rise rate. the 2.72" is probably your best bet, but I'm sure you would have to use the bleed valve to make it work, or possibly the next smaller disc, but be careful.
