57676, cold air extension on hrc stage 2 - 20g

ok.. well tonight i finally put on a cold air extension tube onto my 20g..

first off.. a little background.. for some reason i have a retarded kit cause my intake for the turbo would sit damn near on the tranny and not up higher like most i have seen.. i didn't like this cause of so much hot air that is down there..

anyway.. i went on ebay and got a cheap 25 buck intake for an nt eclipse.. it was a little bigger than the hrc pips so i had to find some reducers and what not..

anyway.. i ran the tube down in front of the driver's side tire, behind the dirver's side air scoop on the evo bumper..

let me tell you.. what a difference.. at launch i will admit the turbo does take a fraction of a second longer to spool.. however when your crusing down the road.. the pickup is incredible and the car definetly feels more pwoerful when driving down the road. must be all that cold air getting right into the intake and piping rather than all the hot air from before.

also.. anyone remember what their ram air intake sounded like? it sounds close to that which i think is also very cool.

for 25 bux.. im very happy.

You really noticed a power difference? When the air is compressed it gets extremely hot anyhow... Do you think I'd notice a gain at 7psi?

hehe.. well i think it is doing something thats for damn sure..

the car feels like it has more throttle response at high speeds.

try cruisin with no filter. they say you can get a 2psi loss out of a intake filter, thats why those drag beasts just have the turbo hangin out the hood, lol. no filter is bad obviously because you dont want to suck shit up, but it makes ur car run way insane...just thought i'd share

my .02
