Posted by DarkOne, May-31-01 07:10 AM I've heard different things about that: It reduces turbulance near the turbine outlet to help spool and flow, and it can cause boost creep due to the pipe diameter and volume of gas evacuated through the wastegate. The real reason it's like that: They did it while the downpipe was on the car, and the area was too small to work in, so they routed the pipe all the way down where they could actually weld it to the downpipe around all 360* of it. I just think it looks cool, since it was the first time i've actually pulled it off the car (or been able to, for that matter.) ______________________________________ -Dino Yancey I'm so bad, i should be in detention. How different does you car sound and how was performance affected (FMAX claims up to 40+hp from leaving the dump tube in open air). Anyway, why did you need a flange put on it to take it off? you mean the flange where it bolts to the cat? jason 95 GS Turbo
