Does anyone know what size hole-boring bit to use for tapping the oil pan? I know you need a .75" hole for the Hahn fitting but does anyone know if it's the same for the Star kit? Just tryin to get some parts bought before the kit comes. Thanks guys.

I would use a Aeroquip or Earls fitting, with stainless steel braided line for your return line. no leaks, much safer. im not sure on what size mine is though, its been a while.

So do you think the fitting that's supplied with the Star kit is crappy or something or are you just suggesting that alternative?

Ok, thanks. I'll look around for that. I've been by almost every parts store in town lookin for little stuff for the install (plugs, oil pan gasket, colder thermostat, etc.) and none of them have anything or they're just stupid beyond all reason and look at me like I'm some crazy city-boy who's looking for absurd parts for his japuhneese eemport. :rolleyes I hate South Carolina... maybe they can find a simple fitting this time...

Mine works just fine.. I just used a 1/2" drill bit, and a dremel to clean the hole up and open it up to match the hole in the return flange. Of course, i JB welded my entire return setup to the pan, so i doubt it could leak if it wanted to.

Most of that stuff isn't mine.. Most of it is from my ex-gf, or my current roommate. I've been meaning to password-protect that directory again, and i just haven't bothered..

But thanks for looking :-)

*edit*

Okay yeah, a lot of that is mine. Everything that sucks isn't mine.

Please tell me you don't think i listen to Avril :rolleyes
