5709, ticking? Posted by bustrblue1, May-30-01 01:54 PM
i found a car for my brother and he went to go get it in Miami, Fl. were in SC, northern part. it's a 95 Talon TSI. thats an upgrade because he had a mustang. the only thing is, i'm sure he didn't pay too much attention to it, but he said theres a ticking in the engine. he hasn't gotten back yet so i haven't been able to look at it. my father thinks it might be the lifters. anyone know? if it is he lifters how much would that be to fix? or whatever it is. thanks and whats everyone think of my car? finally got around to posting a pic

4G63s are somewhat notorious for noisy (harmless) lifters. Many believe changing brands and wts of oil help. If your sure thats what it is i wouldn't worry (the worrying is making sure thats it).

thanks, sure hope that it'll be alright. he's here now, still asleep, it looks like a nice car though, but then again what else could you expect from an Eclipse/Talon
