55610, Best head gasket for 420a? Posted by ughhhead, Sep-06-03 01:01 PM i have a leaky head gasket now and i am soon to be doing my custom turbo job. a leaky head gasket will def. not hold up under boost so... all i would like to know is what is the best head gasket and where did you get it and how much did you get it for. i tried searching and didn't get a damn thing. 55887, About the Cometic gasket... Posted by The1Bill, Sep-09-03 04:12 PM The Cometic (the one on E-Bay) is used with enormous success in every other car enthusiast market out there. The only issues that I know of with that gasket is that it needs a **REALLY** smooth surface on the block to mate with. I would get the block cut perfectly flat before using that, and polishing the mating surface. The 4G63 is too grainy to use it with 100% success without being cut, cleaned, and polished. If installed properly on a properly prepared motor, this gasket will never fail. | |

After having HG problems with the 420a the OEM HG was changed a while back to the current MLS. Sorta one of those recalls that never became a recall. I bet 10 bucks some Satan dealers still have the "old" ones lying around. Make sure you are actually getting the new one! | |
