Ok, well some of you may know, i ended up putting my head gasket on upside down. All I had to do was the spark plugs. So the car never started with the head gasket upside down.
Well anyways, I was wondering if it is ok if I reuse the head bolts. Or must I get new ones since they are already torqued. Keep in mind that the car hasn't started.
And, after I put the head on, I found in the factory manual that they want you to put clean engine oil on the threads before using them. I didnt do that, am I in trouble?
Edit: crap, i'm sorry moderators, I meant to post in the engine forum.

I think you'll be just fine... technically, you shouldn't re-use factory head bolts but I've re-used old ones before and it's just fine. Really, it all depends on what kind of motor you're building... if it's a high performance beast get new ones, if it's nothing too fancy re-use them IMO.

you could reuse them, but instead of putting oil on them, use vasoline.

I wouldn't reuse them. Mine looked fine when I first put the 2.4 back together. Guess what, when I started the car, the oil and the coolant were a'mixin! That's why I like the ARP studs that I replaced the bolts with. I can torque them down as many times as I want. -=B-=
