I have done a lot of modifications to my car... im almost certain my CEL is going to come on.... will most places fail the car even if the light is on?

If you are in cali...a definite YES it will fail

Can't you erase it by unplugging the battery right before you go? In most cases it take a while for it to come back. And once erased they can plug anything they want, it won't show up...;-)

disconnect the battery over night not sure if it actually takes that long but that's what i did and the light was off when i connested the battery back the next morning. disconnected it at 10pm reconnected it at 10 the next morninng. cel light was off! hope this helps!!

I just brought my car in for inspection 2 days ago and here in NJ if you have a 98 model and up, they hook your car up to a computer and check for codes. They said that your code has to be cleared otherwise you will fail inspection. Hope that helps

I did a little more checking into this... if the light is on while the test is being performed it will fail.... the only thing i'm worried about is the sensor inside the gas tank... I no longer have the stock gas tank i'm using a fuel cell... but other then that i am using the missing link...
