ARRGH, why is it taking me so loooong?!@#? This turbo install is taking more time than I thought it would! grrrr
First, I had some trouble getting off the cat bolts.
Second, I needed to scrape/clean off the mating surface on the head (where the exhaust manifold mates). After some time, I gave up and it's still not clean.
Third, I now need to replace some coolant hoses as they've expanded and been compressed by the cheap metal clamp (it's kinda leaky when I reorientated the clamps to make room for the intercooler piping).
aarrrrrrrggghhhh
taking long time and with each step it's getting messier and messier!

Yikes, I was considering doing my own install but do you think its worth it to just pay someone? How much do you think a stage 1 turbo install would cost?

How old/new is your car? How abused/taken care is it?
Doing the install yourself is possible, but it may get a little messy...

It's a 97 with 60k miles Im pretty crazy when it comes to keeping it clean...my thought about it was that I could give it a whirl and if all else fails take it to the shop?

Yup try that...just make sure you decipher the install instructions first before unbolting the first thing off..

The only problem I see is you're too in a hurry to finish installing your turbosystem. You don't want to rush the install man. You need to take your time and get every aspect of ever part installed correctly. Trust me..it's worth the time and effort to get it dont right. It took me a week and a half (by my self) to intall my star stage II and even with a little custom tweaking due to the fact that I had to jerry rig the sob to get the starion intercooler to fit. if you need help..email me.

Yeah, I'll need help to install the intercooler.
But my problem is that my kit came incomplete and I am missing fuel line fittings and hoses. I can't seem to find the AN-6 type fittings and the right size hose. Plus I keep on getting delayed, ie stuck bolts in removing stuff, not the right tool to remove oil sender and such.....
But that should be sorted out soon once I get the right tools and parts!
