this happened two weeks ago before I left. I walked out and notice my inline fuel pump was on. Damn thing was running and the car was off. Not use what caused it. I had to drive with the fuse for the pump off so it wouldn't turn on. I would step on the gas quick wihtout the accel in line on and it would sputter at first. Almost to a point where it would almost stall. But then at normal accelaration it's fine. Anyone ever had this problem or knows how to fix it?

sounds like you have the relay hooked up wrong.

that sputtering youre getting is your car not getting enough fuel.

I've had this kit on for 2 years now. I'd think if it was a relay problem, it would have presented itself a while ago. Could it be a possiblity that the relay went bad? Could one be picked up at autosone if it was?

If you had the kit on for 2 years already then your relay definately went bad. Obviously it is drawing direct current from your bat and powering itself. I don't know if you can get it Autozone, but call Hahn first and ask them. They have always been straight forward with me. If you can get it somewhere they'll tell you, and if not, then you'll already be on the phone with them and you can order a new one.

Im just ordered an accel inline, does it come with a relay or where do i have to buy one. My car drives the same way as your's does. Hope my problem gets fixed soon.

not to worry guys any auto shop should have a 12v relay
all it does is switch power on when the singnal wire gets power.

Yeah, you can use any normal 12volt SPDT realy. I use a DEI 12v relay, which can be foud at alarm/ remote starter dealers/shops. If you are good, you can get them for really cheap. No need to go throgh HRC to get one..DEI's relays are very good quality,and have yet to see one go bad(i install DEI stuff every day at my shop)

well i checked my relay under the seat and found that it was soaked with water. Now I need a new relay. Went to 4 different places and they couldn't really help me. I'm not sure how a relay works on the techincal side. So can anyone point me in the right direction or give me a brand name so I can just ask for it. These fuckers are epensive, I found one for 18 bucks!

ok this is how a relay works...
there are four points on a realy, one point is for 12v power in (comin from your battery), sencond is the ground ( i grounded mine where i have my amps grounded), third point is 12v power out to your inline fuel pump, and the last is the signal wire which is the stock fuel pump power wire.
when the signal wires gets power, when u turn on your car, it will automaticlly energize and tell it self to start sending power to the pump if the signal wire doesn't have any power you inline fuel pump will not get any power

good question. I found that my freaken bottom carpeting is soaken wet. I guess it's because I have about 8 holes from my stock spoiler that has not been filled. So I only need a 4 prong relay and not a 5?

5 prong hmmmm.. is there anyway you could like draw the diagram that should be on the relay.
if not then just tell me what u hook that fifth wire up to and i can tell ya if can use a four prong relay
my guess is u can because i can't imagine what the fifth prong would be for, maybe another ground?

4th prong is not used. it's like this, but the 3,5 and 4 are inline with each other.

pull out the relay (its socketed RIGHT? ;-)) and goto Napa, they will match you up with one that has the same pinouts and you should be able to just plug it in. ta-da!

haha soaked with water that'll difinately make it act wierd. Mine is under the rear seat :P with all the connection ghetto soldered to it.

haha I tried running without the inline pump so I could do smog as an experiment and it runs fine just if you try to boost for oh more than 3 seconds the AF ratio gauge pegs full green for 1 second and plummets down to lean really fast haha.

boy it sure is a lot quieter with it off :P

You can use either a 4 or 5 prong relay. Like i said,go to a alarm place and pick one up..prob for a few bucks. Wire like this, numbers should be on the underside of the relay, by the pins.

Pin#
85-ground
86-connect to stock black/blue fuel pump wire
87- +12 volt feed from battery (fused at battery!!)
30- +12 volt out to your + connection to the fuel pump.

Thats all there is to it. Be sure to use a fuse at the battery! 15 or 20 amp is fine. A 5 prong relay (SPDT) will have pin #87A, that will not be used.
4 prong= SPST- Singel pole, single throw
5 prong= SPDT- Single pole, double throw

I have the 4 prong relay and have it connected exactly the way you have posted in this thread, but having problems. I have the realy for my intank walbro. I have a 10 gauge power line with in line fuse connected to the 87 on the relay and the rest the way you said and it stays on continuosly and does not shut off after car turns off, why is that. It just whines on and does not shut off. My car is running like shit and i cant stand it anymore, could any one help.

Do you have an auxillary fuel pump? Becuase this set up is for stock fuel pump along with an inline fuel pump. Using power and ground from stock pump and 12v and ground from battery and chasis to power up the inline via relay.

It is the walbro intank, i dont have the inline fuel pump, its on its way now. So i dont have to do that for my intank then.

No, thats only to power an inline pump. For an intank just leave the power how it is and install the intank pump. Or do the rewire mod, basically same idea as the inline wireing. The stock wires to the fuel pump connect to a relay. You run a larger wire (to avoid flux in voltage) from the battery to the relay. Basically then the ignition will control the relay and the relay will power the fuel pump when the ignition goes on. Search for the fuel pump rewire mod link.
