Sup guys, I need help installing the airtex inline fuel pump. Where to mount this thing and how to install?

I'm running this, too..

The way I installed it: Get under your car, just in front of the passenger side rear wheel. Look around, and find the fuel line.

There will be a soft line, screwed down to a hard, metal line. Unscrew that fuel line ( i used a pair of pliers and a 14mm wrench), and wait for the gas to spray everywhere.

Once it is loose, cut that soft line about 4 inches back from the metal fitting on the end. Make sure the section of line you are cutting off is long enough to go from the outlet on the airtex pump to the hard line without kinking the line. Install the cut off portion of the soft line onto the outlet of the fuel pump and hose clamp it. It points straight up, and will have to bend at a 90* angle to meet the hard line.

The pump comes with a section of fuel line, and an internal brass butt style connector. Take that fuel line, with the connector in it, and ram that sucker into the other end of the soft line (coming from the fuel tank). Hose clamp both lines. (this is harder than it sounds.. that butt connector is big, the hoses are a bit too small.)

Connect the now lengthened line from your tank to the inlet of the fuel pump and hose clamp it. Reconnect the soft line coming from the pump's outlet to the hard line and make sure it is tight.

I secured my pump the the rubber covered, steel reinforced tube that my emergency brake line runs through. I haven't had any problems with it being loose or moving. The fuel lines also help to keep it stable.

As for power, i got it from the relay used in my fuel pump rewire. The location given (just about the only place you can mount it) puts the pump almost directly below the interior access panel to the stock (or walbro intank) pump under your back seat. If you haven't done the rewire, i highly recommend it, as the two pumps you are using, if wired to the stock power supply, will probably blow a fuse. they draw a lot of current.

As soon as my car gets out of the bodyshop, i'm going to take some pictures of the way i'm set up. I'll try and get Juan to host in in the mods section.

sorry to sound ig'nant but are you saying the airtex doesn't fit as a direct replacement,or did you mean you had both pumps running?!!??oh,know any links on how to install the wastegate and the blow off valve?kinda in the dark w/ this install.thanks.

Your Wastegate should have came with instructions on how to install and set it up. I'm pretty sure you just bolt on the wastegate onto the exhuast manifold and the BOV is bolted onto the TB piping.

Thanx for inquiring on the airtex inline pump Randy I'm gonna give it a shot tonight, I bought a bigger fuel hose also because I dont' see how you can get that dinky little hose onto that big ass connector!

Not to sound like a smartass...

Of course the airtex doesn't fit as a direct replacement! What is it going to replace? it's an inline... we don't have on inline stock, we have an intank. yes, i run two pumps.. a walbro 255HP (255Lph@43PSi), and that inline airtex. (rated at 120PSI@60GHP, stall) I'm supposedly getting my car back Friday, i'll have a pic or two then to show you guys.

HadesOmega: it'll fit. Push really hard. One end of that connector is smaller than the other, and it's easier (IMOHO) to make it fit that way than to go out and buy new connectors, new fuel line, and/or run new line from the intank's output on the existing bracket. Trust me, it'll fit.

Well I haven't quite gotten to the installation of the pump, doesn't sound like it takes too long. I managed to get the fuel pump rewiring mod done. I ran the wire where my amp's wires go toward the passenger side instead of going through the drivers. Anyway after hours of soldering in cramped spaces I got it finished. Boy it sure pulls now when I floor it now. I got a question though. Is the fuel pump suppose to be kind of noisy? I don't have the back seat pad on yet but I can really hear that pump pumpin now? Is this good or bad?
