53497, AFX ECU and nitrous Posted by djtrickee, Aug-06-03 10:19 AM
Hey- I was thinking about this and have wanted to get the AFX ECU for a while now, but I am concerned about how it will react with the occasional spray. I would really like to buy the AFX ECU for 99% of my driving daily, but would still like to be able to spray on those special occasions. Do you think they will play nice together? I am also getting a window switch for the nitrous so I wont go above a certain RPM when spraying, because I know the AFX also raises the rev limiter. What do you guys think?

I would think that you could just pull timing when your sprayin and youd be fine

I don't know if anyone is running this combo right now. I would agree though that you will have to pull some timing to spray. I know to run it with a turbo, you would have to find out exactly how much timing it was giving and prolly retard all of it right back out. I would assume it could work, but you would have to be able to pull timing and it would require some real good tuning.

I was afraid of that and I can't find the specs anywhere on How much and when the AFX is changing the timing. I guess it was just hopeful dreaming that I could use the AFX ECU and still keep my nitrous setup.
