I have an IHI RHB5 for my custom turbo kit and its oil and water cooled. I asked a guy at the shop where im going to get my piping made from, and he said that I wouldn't necesarily need to run water to it, because the old cars that these turbos came with, didnt have a turbo timer.

But, my freind at work told me that's not such a smart idea, and I would be better off running both.

I would much rather just run my turbo only being oil cooled, because that would be just another pain in my ass dissapeared.

Also I need to know where to tap for my oil inlet feed at, if anyone has any pics of where that is also i'd appreciate it.

You can cap off the water channels, but they do offer additional cooling and are not too complicated to set up. They do add an extra load on your cooling system though. Most people with 420A turbos are running oil cooled only with the water channels capped off.

Both is alway's better. But it is not nessisary. Oil you can get from the back of the block at the oil pressure sensor. You will need some fittings and an oil line to go from the fittings at the back of the block to the turbo.

Fittings you will need are a 3/8" brass T, 3/8" brass nipple, and then the nessisary fittings to adapt from 3/8" to whatever size of oil line you will be using.

It will look something like this . The black thing is the oil pressure sensor.

the reason i dont want to run water, and only oil is because i bought the turbo from a freind and it came with the 2 oil fittings, and 1 water fitting.

OMG haha I read the topic and I was like WTF!? no way driving without oil is #1 cause of turbo failure.

hehe but yes you can run it without water. It'll probably just make stuff rust and all anyway O_o

yeah, so i have completely searched the CD manual for the oil pressure sensor and i cant find anything.... I also looked for it today through the top, and i didnt see anything that looked like the sensor.
Is it near the top, or bottom of the block, and which side is it on?

also i tried going to motofool's site, and talking to him on aol, but niether worked, and i need my oil lines soon!!

Hey RxR Eclipse, how much did all that stuff cost you? Does motofool's come with EVERYTHING? All the fittings and tees, and that?
