I need some suggestions/ideas. I have the blitz font and hrc fmic. I need to put my license plate on the front somewhere, but im not sure what the best spot would be. I already got a ticket for it. Keep in mind that my fmic takes up the entire middle opening. I dont and wont drill holes through the bumper usless its underneath or hidden somehow. Example... not like our stock bumper that drills holes right in the front. Also, the plate wont fit in the side openings. Its too big. I was thinking of putting my plate in the middle opening, off to the side (it would still be in the way of the fmic), but drill/mount it on the top lip and put something on the back of the plate to push it out so it wont be pushed back on the fmic so it could still get a little bit of air behind it. So what do u think? Suggestions? If I did do my idea.... how bad can I effect my air flow by doing that? Will it hurt bad? Should I just suction cup this thing on my bumper somewhere? Help!

Did you ever see those hinged setups? When the car is sitting still the plate looks normal, but when you drive it folds flat from the air hitting it. They use them in Japan alot to avoid photo radar.

Did you get a ticket with it stashed up in your windshield like in your sig? I thought that was ok as long as it could be seen from the front of the car????

Nothing you do will make it look as clean without it, but if I HAD to I would offset it to one side or the other over one of the vents in the bumper. DON'T use the suction cup method tho!

i read on here awhile ago that it doesn't matter where the front license plate is, as long as it is in front of the rear one on the car. So, i would imagine having the license plate in the front window would be ok. But if you had to put it on the front bumper somewhere, I would look into those hinge things.

yea. i got a ticket for it when it was in the windshild. and it is clearly visable. but this cop is a.... well.... ya know. u all have them around u im sure. haha. but they demand it HAS to be on the bumper. they said having it in the windshield is dangerous or some shit cuz if i get into a accident or anything, it could come back and cut/slice/kill me...yadda yadda yadda.....

use hinges eh??? humm..... never thought about that. i was thinking of using brackets, but hinges would be cooler. especially if the plate folds back. just use door hinges? i think im gonna do this. wait..... that wouldnt be much better than using brackets. i only have like 2-3in that it could move back. that aint gonna work. ahhh!!!!!

anymore ideas? this sux. theres like no where to put this thing.

Alright dude, sucks that you got the ticket, but I also did get one too. State law demanded that it be "secuerly attached to the front of the vehicle". Anyway...
Here is what i did. I got a peice of 1/8 in steel, about a 2 foot square section from my dad, then made a template of the licence plate on it and cut it about DOUBLE the hieght of the plate(of course cut it the right width). I then put my new template into a vice and bent it about 90 deg. So now you have a L shaped peice of metal. Wonder where I'm going with this? Ok you know those 3 bolts that hang down in the front of the bumper? Take a piece of cardboard and get the bolt patern, measure how far out you want you plate to sit and then drill the three holes out in the metal. Now you have a lisence plate holder :)> Go ahead and drill out the 4 holes you will need to mount the plate on your new plate holder next. That is about it. No driling required on the bumper. Looks pretty good too. I primered mine and painted it black.

I've seen a couple FMIC people cut off the "extra" bits of the plate so the license number is the only part left, and the plate is only like 3" tall. Fits right on the front of the bumper, and you can hack together a plastic frame.

You can always bend the plate to fit over and down below your bumper... altho this usually looks a little more ghetto.

My camera is at my dad's for a few day's, so I drew this up. Sorry about the small size :(. If anyone wants a copy of the exell sheet I'll send it to them. Anyway you just mount this right under the mitsubishi symbol. Kinda like they have for the evo.

when i got my car it had one of those metal plates that bent over the front part of my bumper and held the license plate where it was mounted by bolts under the opening of the bumper.. i had since removed it and never have had a problem with not having a plate in the front of my vehicle.. but yeah this method will be the best to avoide putting visible holes in your bumper..

Or, check out page 82 of Super Street mag. You can drill the front bumper and mount the license plate that way. Plus, the drill holes will not be visible if the plate has to be removed.
