Some guy wants to sell me one. Are they any good? How do they sound? How much do they cost new? Thanks for the help, and fill me in on any experiences you guys have had with them.

According to wyatt, when I asked how the HKS ssq was compared to the Greddy type S, he said the SSQ was less prone to leak at higher boost levels because it is a bit of a stiffer set up, but also you will need to get into boost a lot more before you really hear it. If you're getting a deal on it, I say go for it. My friend has one and it sounds bad ass...

i dunno i talked to a lot of DSMrs around here..they say the HKS SS is crap..my DSM friends and I all have the Type-S and it holds boost quite well. Greddy IMO mades the best bov..friend is running a Type-R bov and it sounds bad ass. i know a couple of DSMrs running the HKS SS..they are venting it to atmosphere..it's ok..i prefer the type-s.. turboxs makes some good ones too..i had a turboxs typeh-rfl..it was too loud..venting to atmosphere = bad..so i sold it and got a Type-S along with hard intercooler pipes

With the 4G63 guys they have always been at war with the SSBOV cause for some it has had issues when venting. I however have not had any. Only problem has been the stock vaccum recirc. line cause it's not the right size, but as for holding boost below 10psi no problem. Because of the design, boost leak from it is unlikely. And the sound is as unique as it gets. I recommend it. :D

does anyone have sound clips? I can get it for $160, but I might just go with a 1G bov. Does yhe 1G BOV sound any good vented? How much boost are all you guys running who said the SSQ sounds good? Is it really loud? I don't want anything crazy.

And thegame, I'm putting together my custom kit, so i'm lookin for parts for it. and by any chance, do you still have your stock front bumper?

I heard the hks unit on a VW rabit or something and it is a high pitched whistle. Sounds awsome! He was running 14psi. If you want to hear my 1g bov check the link in my sig.....these are at about 5-6 psi.

i only run 6 daily and once in a while i up it to 10, like the other guy said it sounds like a high pitch whistle, sometimes it sounds like a sneeze its pretty loud at 6 psi so sim sure at 10 + its even better (you will be noticed)
