At the Shootout, I had a chance to dyno my car. Certainly not as impressive as that 320 WHP monster at 22 psi Murix posted, but all the same, I was happy with it. I leaned it out slightly on the second run which gained a little more torque, but I had a little blip apparently at 4800 rpm's or so.


I think all in all, it pretty much shows you're gaining about 10-12 HP per psi. I need to get a new DP for sure!!

I also recently installed my new front mount last week.

Thanks Jeff. Yeah a lot more tuning indeed. That 320HP was that other post that Murix made. It's in another thread a little bit down further and also at www.avenger30.com (i.e. an avenger at 22 psi and race gas).

Heheh. I wish man! I had a starion front mount before. It definitely loses some of its effectiveness after 10 psi or so. I've gone every stage I think for a little bit. Stage 1, stage 2, stage 3...etc. to whatever I am now. :thumbsup

I'm quite pleased though at my level of HP. Once I get the DP on, and tune a tad more, I've pretty much reached some of my biggest goals in terms of power!

Mark made 330fwhp and 360lb-ft of torque in his Avenger using the S16G and 21psi on around 97 octane so not quite race gas.

Your numbers are very similar to what I achieved years ago at the same boost level. I dynoed close to 260fwhp at 14psi in 1999 using 36lb injectors and a S-AFC. Been so long! I had a 2.5" dp since the first day my turbo was installed. My clutch gave out so we never tried more.

The dip is there in all 420A eclipses turbo or not turbo. Go look at a few dyno charts and you will see. Dino and I were discussing this.

Our cars make really cool torque. Tells you a lot about our stock head, cams, and intake manifold design.

Your car has always been the role model citizen of how to properly build a 420a turbo eclipse.

And for the record, I am hoping for a lot more out of mine! I still recall Armond making 340fwhp on pump gas and around 18psi on his S20G. That is my goal. My S16G was rebuilt and machined by FP to fit a TD06 exhaust wheel and 20G compressor wheel for those that did not know.

Those are very good numbers for that amount of boost. Keep it up, guys!

Well, I'm sure that's quite true. I haven't even done any "serious" tuning yet. Hell, without even a wideband O2, I made some VERY slight adjustments with my EIC and got 5 more pounds of torque. I'm quite sure I can do even better, but I'm happy to start here as a baseline. Besides, my O2 readings were .95-.97 through both pulls!

As far as comparisons go, there was a GS-T who went right after me with his small 16g and with 17 psi, he a LOT less torque and HP. I think he had like 220-230HP and maybe 240 lbs of torque.

Thanks a ton for the props, guys! I think most guys from 2GNT did outstanding on the dyno. All in all, it was a terrific experience getting my car up there for some real baseline runs!!:thumbsup :7 No more, he said, she said crap!

BTW, James, once you get your car on the dyno, I'd like to see the results of that S20g. That way, I can see how the torque compares. I love this flat roque curve the 420a with the S16g provides!

I forgot to tell you in Ohio, but......godd numbers.....I am jealous!

yea, those were really good numbers jason. i have a video of you on the dyno. it sounded like you may have had a little pinging goin on soon after you enter boost...

i might be going to the dyno on thursday. ill post the sheet whether its good or bad. hehe

Also a hot day and an elevation of like 850 feet or so. I was surprised the track was that high an elevation. Altitude does play a part in power.

Sorry I couln't make it to the shoot-out guys. I was busy tryin to get my beast working properly. I was having fuel pressure then electrical problems. Good thing I didn't go. Today my electrical crapped out on me. Car wont start.

It has a nice screw in threaded bung at the top and two very nice brackets that fit in the bottom. I can't tell everyone how pleased I am with this IC. NO heat soak anymore at all. Just datalogging last night, under boost, I couldn't get my intake temps over 110.
