5156, Q about 440 and S-AFC, please help Posted by Shant, May-16-01 03:46 AM
Well I scrolled back a few pages and just seen that the idle pressure should be around 43psi?? Is this correct, I also seen that teh vaccum line or something neded to be corrected?? So my motor is all said and done, and just need to be put in, so this is why I need some answers here, So Ihave teh stage 2 with built everything and the 440, So should idle pressure be around 43psi?? I need to break it in first before I bpoost up higher so it'll be like that for awhile, or do I throw my stock ones in for one, untill broken in or go the 440?? I also have teh dattloger this will help me out also in he quest for right fuel pressure correct??? Thanks

43PSI is the pressure they use to test injector flow rates.
If you have the stock FPR, you idle at 47PSI. IMO, you'd be safe leaving it alone for now and using the SAFC to lean out the injectors to a reasonable amount..

I have mine set at 38 psi. I might bump it up 1 or 3 now that I think about it. Thus far though no problems where it is set now. Becarful you do not wash out your rings by dummping too much fuel, otherwise your rings will never seal. Good luck SEE YA!!!!!!!!!MWC

Hmmm, so does that mean that 30psi is too low for an idle fuel pressure (I got 370cc's and AFC)? I guess I need to raise it up and hopefully I won't have the hard startings that I've been experiencing.
