Long debate continued. .. I have the '95 fuel system as you know (obd1) and I took the check valves off my MAP sensor. Started experiencing fuel cut. Now that tells me something.. does that tell you something? Now what were you saying about twenty seven years ago about MAP sensor voltage? Also.. fyi.. I don't have an AFC anymore. I traded a B18B longblock for the Accel DFI so.. .. .. blah blah blah.. let me know your thoughts/comments kiddo.

Yeah, it tells me you probably don't have a 95 ecu. No one i know with a 95 ever gets fuel cut. Your car is special :-)

Dino's right...ive seen as high as 20+ psi w/o any missing link/lil black box on my 95 and have never had fuel cut.

I think I've gotten fuel cut twice with my car, but I'm not positive if it was fuel cut or something else. One time it happened when I was doin about 45 or so in 4th, downshifted to third, gunned it real quick then let off for a second, then gunned it again. It happened when I went to gun that second time - the car surged forward a second then out of the blue just started to decelerate. It only lasted for a few seconds - I let off the gas as soon as I realized that I wasn't going faster - then I gave it a little gas and it was fine. The other time it happened, it was basically the same situation - gas it, let off, gas it and it cut out on me, just to come back to life a couple seconds later - after resetting the throttle. Both times it happened in 3rd - at higher RPMS. The hesitaion/decel only lasts about a second or two, the engine comes right back to life after letting go of the gas and then giving it a little gas. Its like a hiccup in power - where absolutely NONE of the cylinders are firing. I didn't get a CEL either time, and the 2 incidents in question happened many months and mods apart from each other. I'm N/A and I've got one of the early 95s - built in 94. I always just thought it was fuel cut because...well it just seemed like fuel cut. Is this what fuel cut feels like?

That's what loss of the cam angle sensor under power feels like. If you stay in it, does it backfire and buck?

ok, ok, how about this, I was redline in 3rd and somehow when shifting to fourth, I missed the gate and went into second x( well I never totally let out of the clutch but I swear the tach went to 8500 or mabye a lil more I cought it revving and quickly pushed the clutch back down before totally letting out, Now when it revved wouldn't something like fuel cut have stopped it b4 it got that high or would that have not even happened b/c the engine is forced into revving that high b/c of the tranny ( or like you said a 95 dosen't have a fuel cut). needless to say I probobly did irreparable damage to my motor. :+

Now that you mention it - there is a small backfire when it happens. Right at the onset of the power loss. I never stay on the gas too long after it happens, so I don't know if it causes more backfires or not. I guess this is just a tbelt tension issue then, right? I know that mine is in desperate need of replacement. Thanks Dino.

W/ the DFI hooked up you should be able to take off the harness to the map sensor and you still shouldn’t see any fuel cut no matter what year ecu. The DFI has its own map and the stock map is basically useless as far as fuel goes. It still has a part in the spark but no where near the same as the fuel when it comes to cut. All it does is fuck up your spark advance but you still shouldn't get cut.
