Need help again. I just got the cv axle replaced and the car still runs like shit. Went to KC, car started running like shit about 30 miles outside of town and then smoothed up on the trip back, but my cv axle broke and my car has been sitting since the trip. I fixed it tonight and took it for a spin, and once again we have the same results. Here's my description:
Car runs like shit at start...barely runs for the first ~2 minutes or so. dead rich.
Still hitting a 4k RPM Rev limiter...this happens NOT WITH BOOST, but regardless. i could slowly approach 4k and at EXACTLY 4K it bounces off the limiter. That disqualifies the HRC FCD as being teh culprit. At least, I think. Car runs moderately rich after its warmed up..richer than it should, but not so bad the car won't stay running.
I've tried searching and the results i've come up with on similar events were "kick your ecu" or nobody knows why. I KNOW its been discussed but can't find the topics.
Somebody PLEASE help me!! I'm very fed up with my car right now!!

alright i know nobody's helped yet but heres what happened today.
woke up at 7 and unplugged the ECU. let the car sit
got in it about noon-30 and the car started and drove fine, city and highway. About 2 miles from work i saw the EGTs dropping. oh shit, then the car starts doing the shaking thing. The car will shake as if it's surging/losing power for 1/2 second or so. it does this about 4 or 5 times a minute. my EGTs are really low on highway driving. If i put in the clutch,the car dies no questions asked. I limp into work, it died in the aprking lot a few times. Then when i get parked i let it sit for a bit, and hte EGTs won't come back down. They're hung around 600C. Car's idle is terrible and car is blasting black smoke. I shut it down and let it sit while i'm at work. off 4 hours later, start teh car and it drives fine. A tad rich at times (it seems to cycle between normal/rich). It doesn't feel like it had the power it used to have. It got the shakes a few times on the highway, but pulls out of it and i get home fine.
a few side notes about the situation: When it is shaky, and i'm off the gas, it falls on its face. then i mash it and it whips my head back. i left off the gas and its very jerky and not smooth.
No problems today w/ the 4k rev limiter.

What consists of your fuel system(in detail). Almost sounds like your fuel pressure is shooting up for some reason. Have you monitored your fuel pressure when this happens?

i kind of thought the same thing that maybe the FPR was getting stuck. i have an unmodified HRC fuel system w/ 310's.
It ran great until i left for kansas city last week :(
I've had my bosch o2 in for a few months now (since february, i belive) so i thought it may be going out already, also.
Just so many things going wrong!! I HATE IT
So, what would cause the electrical surge/jolt part of it.

the 4k wall you were hitting was most likely limp mode. id bet your O2 is shot, because the crappy HRC regulator is making you run too rich all the time. on a side note, back before i got my missing link, i was running the STAR kits black box. i had to power for it ran to an ignition switched fuse. the fuse finally blew one day(of course) and my car did almost the same as yours with the whole low EGTs and dying. but it dies once...and that was it. do you have a FP gauge at all? if ya cant afford an electronic one, get a cheap underhood one, run a hose to the back of it, and secure it under your windshield wiper. :-) kinda ghetto but it gets the job done.
