Tomorrow I am going to shoot a 200 shot to my car for the first time. What is the max EGT I should get?

Oh, I'd say about 1900, or maybe 2000! Are you seriously running a 200 shot of nitrous?? What have you done to the engine to handle it?

well, you still dont wanna be over 1600... just like with turbo. thats when shit starts to melt or detonate. speaking of detonation.. you BETTER run completely only 110 or higher octane and retard the hell out of your timing. goodluck, and dont blow yourself up! :-)

When you talked about 1600 degree on the EGT.
Is that in F or C???
coz my EGT gauge is in C man.

He's running a built block if I remember right. I hope your gonna have that 200 shot on a controller, if not then bye-bye pistons, tranny, and axles. You better have some serious supporting mods, the neon guys are hitting 200s but with fuel/ignition upgrades and host of other shit. Just a built block won't handle that much N20, I'd try a 125 or MAYBE a 150 first, but not a 200 shot.

I miss my nitrous days, I'll be using it again soon though! Here's a couple tips:

Watch your EGTs... stay under 1600*F!
Watch your A/F Ratio!
Run 112+ octane fuel...
Retard the ignition timing at higher RPMs...
Use a progressive controller for anything over 125...
oh yeah, HAVE FUN!

Well it didn't blow up....yet. Yes I have all supporting mods to hold a 200 shot. I just couldn't get it to run right. The NOS tech guys said that they weren't sure if it would run on pump gas. I am going to get some race gas tomorrow and see it that works. I will let you all know how it goes.

I'm sure he has a direct port setup... you don't want to try a 200 shot with a wet or dry single fogger.

I don't even think you can run a 200 shot on a fogger system? Direct Port is the way to go, safest way in my opinion.

Direct Port and Fogger are the same thing. V8 dudes refer to them as a "fogger" system. noway you would wanna run over a 100-shot with a wet-kit, much less a dry kit.

There is direct port, which is a multipe-fogger system... and single intake fogger nozzles for our engines.

I ran some 112 oct. through it today. I is still getting to much fuel. As soon as i hit about an 80 shot, it goes way to rich, and bogs down. I think the fuel jets are to big for the pressure the walbro pump is putting out. I am going to put in smaller ones Friday, i will keep you guys posted. Also I am running a direct port kit, the kind that has 4 foggers, one for each runner in the intake mani.

i'd guess mid 13's sounds resonable for a 200 shot. if everything works (and guessing he's got all of the other standard high end mods like lots of o' porting, rotational inertia reduction (UDP and flywheel), blah blah blah) he'll be pushing about 350-360 at the crank, which is probably a little less than 300 at the wheels. brynden has about this, but he runs low 14's because he's a "choad"... lol

im having the same problem with my direct port at an 80 shot car boggs sputters and what not i put in a window switch but haven't tried it since . im also an auto let me know what you do to clear it up

Well i got it to a 150 shot today. It still was running to rich when the solenoids opened all the way. I am going to put even smaller jets on the fuel side tomorrow and try again.
