Can anyone tell me how much of a difference there is in noise level with a turbo as opposed to a CAI. I know it's actually the fuel pump that makes the majority of the noise but I'm wondering if it's too noisy, tolerable, or down right cool!

i dont know how much more noise it is in decibels, i doubt anyone does, but i would venture to guess that its worth every extra dB of noise for the power youre making. anyone else think so? maybe its just me, hehe

when you first start the car is when you really notice the fuel pump"whine" after awhile you dont really notice it anymore. As far as the turbo goes I think the loudest noise you'll hear will be the wastegate opening up, thats the most notable sound. The turbo spooling is sweet as well as the bov doing its thing. Its like a symphony of sounds to me! I LOVE IT!!

There won't be any sound of the wastegate opening up with the HRC kit. All I hear is wind rushing through the pipes and the turbo spooling. And, of course, the fuel pump.

Actually the most annoying sound on my car right now is the exhaust pipe rattling against my GS-T sway bar. Man thats a pain...

I agree with DSM1. I rode in his car and it sounds NICE!!!! The wastegate opening makes you r engine sound like it is making some major power. And if you dont like it you can always have someone weld it to the downpipe.

hehe, cyan you crack me up. I take it all back dude. You are funny as all hell. You need a turbo kit to quench that monumental power thirst of yours. You can only resist what doesnt tempt you.

In regards to noise, with the exhaust venting out the downpipe underneath the floor, i'd have to say that was the loudest. It sounded like the symphany all playing at once, and the chord they played was the nastiest, meanest, and outright rudest tone possible. hehe. I could still here my fuel pump.

Thanks for all the insight guys. I'm planning on an HRC Stage 1 for next summer as well as a level 10 upgrade. I didn't expect anyone to answer me with an actual number for dB's. The only reason I used that as my subject is to raise an interest so I would get read :D
