Ok, today I just got my missing link and i installed it. I was so happy and so excited to take it for a spin. Once I pushed it to full throttle, my car started to jerk! What's up with that? Fuel cut still? I'm confused. What other possibilities are there of the problem I'm having? Can it be that my FMU's hose isn't attached to the test port? My installer attached it somewhere else but it's still a fuel line. (not the hard return line). If I don't attach a hose to the test port to the FMU, can that cause fuel cut?

you have the HRC kit right? if you do and there isn't a line from the FMU to the testport on your fuel rail, who ever installed it didn't use the install instructions. that means he could have hooked up other things wrong, i would take it back to him and make him reinstall it exactly like the instructions from HRC say to.

my missing link gives me hickups every now and then too. i think there's something wrong with it. i just deal with it and call it a day.

the trick that i figured out uses an AFC. lean out the mixture a few percent across the board at high throttle only (like -2% or something) which forces the MAP voltage down a hair. depending on the alingment of the planets, my missing link will hold voltage at exactly 4.5 volts, other days it will hold exactly at 4.68 or so which is right on the edge of fuel cut...

Did you disconnect your battery? If the car was in "safe mode" before and you didn't reset the ECU it can still be reading boost, reason why it still cuts. Reset it and see what happends. :D

Yeah I reseted it for 60 seconds like they said. And I did that step twice, still I get fuel cut. HOW GAY. :( I'm going to try it again and reset it for the whole night. LOL. See what happens. Thanks JAS

Just on an off chance, check your plug gaps... When they are to far open it will bsically blow out the spark and act kinda like fuel cut. Make sure your gaps are between .030 and .035

Speaking of plugs .... I'm running the one-range hotter NGK's from when I was NA, what plugs should I be running now?? I don't want to steal the thread, the discussion just made me think of it.

HRC Stage II w/FMIC

just run the standard OEM NGK plugs. it's what i use and they're good enough. normal heat range. 1 range colder plugs for 15+ psi or so. some people will tell you to always use 1 range colder, but remember that colder plugs can fowl easily. fowled plugs suck.

i remember one time i was on my 2nd solo cross-country in my 4 cylinder carburated cessna 152 - before i left the airport over 150 miles away from home i did my engine runup to make sure everything was all set. i switched the magnetos to make sure both ignition system were working (all small single engine planes that i know of have dual igniton for redundancy and extra power, 2 spark plugs to each cylinder is awesome }( ) the engine ran rough and RPM's dropped over 400 rpm's when i was testing the left magneto. doesn't sound much, but with a 2500 rpm redline it's quite a bit. i had to tune the mixture excessively lean (carburators are fun when you have a mixture control right there) at full throttle just sitting there on the ground for over 10 minutes to burn off whatever was caught up in that dam thing. to make matters worse it was a hot day and with no airflow going into the air cooled engine, i was so close to overheating it wasn't funny.

OK, I know how to gap them now. When I first got the spark plugs, I did't know about this and I did not gap them. Do you think this is the reason why Im getting fuel cut? I can't think of anything else causing it. I bought the missing link and it still don't work. :(

Hey Dino, yep, you are right. My fuel system is totally wrong. I had someone check everything over for me and he said that I was getting no fuel to even boost 3PSI. My installer fucked everything up for me. If i would of drove it like that, I would have blown my motor. That idiot. First I thought it was the "black box", then I bought the ML. And still didnt work. Then I checked the gaps on my spark plugs and then I took it to my mechanic and he checked everything over for me and he's fixing it right now. The person who installed my car gave me partial of my money back and offered to paint my rear bumper got me. So all I'm hoping for right now is positive results on my engine. Thanks for helping out guys.
