Ok i was just trying to compare the stage1 and stage2 kits and pretty much the only difference i noticed was that the stage2 comes with the intercooler. My question is this...Could i just get the stage 1 kit and buy an aftermarket intercooler..say a spearco one for example and same the 1000 or so bucks i would spend on getting the stage2 over the stage1? Or does it really matter? because different et 1/4's are like 14.5 with stage1 and 13.7 with stage2....does the intercooler really help that much? and how high of boost would that be running? I don't know which i should do..get the stage1 or 2..tell me what you guys think and sorry for all the dumb questions.

Yes you can get a stage 1 and add an intercooler. You will save a lot of money that way. I wouldn't personally reccomend staying stage one anyway, shit gets to hot and asking for trouble Imo.

Yes, their is a big difference.

You can run up to 8psi with the intercooler. Run about 5psi without. There are a few other things that you would want to do before you up the boost like injectors and sfmu.

This is just the basic shit I could go off for hours on this subject.
Use the search and read the forum like a madman and you should be fine.

If you want to save some cash, get the stage 1 kit, then get a 1st gen eclipse/talon side mount IC. Thats what I and many others have done on here. Make your own piping to go with it. 1st gen IC's are numerous on Ebay, and in junk yards for pretty cheap (50 bucks).

Agreed ^^^. I was planning on doing the exact thing your talking about. I even got to the point where I was looking at 1st gen SMIC on Ebay. I just got lucky and a used Stage II w/ FMIC came along in the For Sale forum, so I jumped on it. Definately an option worth exploring. No need to spend the extra cash at HRC for the IC.
