alright, thanks to sonicbewn-guys sig, i now want an fmic (fmic looks sooooooooooo nice!!!!!!!.
so i got a couple of questions first,
a). is it possible to buy a spearco fmic for under $400 new? how about some websites and info.
b). won't there be some cooling problems since the ic is blocking the radiator?
c). i want a star fmic, do you know if wyatt allows ordering of just the fmic at the not soo expensive rate of below $400?
d). now about the pics, how much cutting is involved on a 97-99 eclipse? the less is better imo...
e). i can probably put aftermarket fogs in the stock fog locations, right?
f). thanks

Check out RRE (http://www.roadraceengineering.com/eclintake.htm). They have a top-to-bottom IC with ends tanks for about 475. It even has the inlet/outlet on the same side, makes it much easier for us to install. Its not a Spearco, its a Griffin but I havent heard anything bad about Griffins from my local turbo DSM crew.

I plan on getting one of these. I think I might have to clock the turbo though since it will be an HRC.

i just helped justin99rs install one this past week (from the star kit). its not too hard at all. a dremel (or in our case, a hack saw) makes the job pretty easy.
go here for a pic:

in that one, the intercooler was too high, there are two bolt holes on the bracket, and they line up perfectly with both the factory bolt on the hood lock bracket and an empty hole right above (i think, might be below) it. piping was hard to get lined up correctly, but we didnt have to cut much away. we cut good chunk out of the plastic bottom-bumper-cover-holder-thing (look at the left of the IC, second fin-row from the top, you can see where we started cutting, and proceeded to cut behind the IC). we also had to trim a bit from some plastic right behind the horn, and reposition the horn at a different angle.
all in all, it took us less than an hour to get the intercooler on and the piping run. removing the front bumper pieces took about 20 mins w/ one person working on each side.
i hope justin jumps in here, he probably remembers better than i do. :P
