IS that it ??? how would you describe the experience of a turbo on a A?T worth it or not ?

i am going in a couple of months.

ALL WILL AGREE that turbo is definitely worth it. i've posted this before and that's what they all tell me. something about, theres nothing like the sound of the turbine spinning or whatever that atx turbo guy from florida said to me...

i don't know what your goals are though. are you just wanting more speed than 120hp at the wheels (like i am) or the quarter mile?

Its definitely worth it. But you must have money and time set aside to handle all the little things that go wrong. And there will be lots of little things to handle after the installation.

I'm building my car for drift/autocross and personal satisfaction in building MY car.

Just remember no matter what you do, someone will always be faster than you. Unless you get a nice sponsorship and make ur car a full race car.

Just listen to yourself and not other people who follow trends.

Little stuff:

Hose clamps and silicon connectors that can loosen and pop off
Making sure all the new vacuum lines stay intact (they are VERY important now)
Intercooler pipes that rub against stock components
Turbo heat destroying nearby hoses
Exhaust manifold bolts that won't stay tight
Downpipe bolts that won't stay tight
Downpipe gasket that burns up
Playing with fuel pressures (especially if you have the Cartech)
Making sure your VC1 always works (unless you buy a ML)

It took me a long time to overcome all the little things

Its worth it, just annoying every time some one looks at your car and says "Your auto?!".

I just realized I told whodatt to do an AT to MT swap... I guess I fucked that up... I meant MT to AT swap. Anyways, I was fucked up that night.

Nice to see all the AT turbo guys. Mod the transmission some and you'll really see your ride come to life!

so sorry...but here in socal in diego..if u drive a fixed up car or turbocharged and see that you have A/T..it is a big deal..and a low esteemer whoever owns that car. its taboo, your car gets mocked too..(you know who you are, and yes, if you rev your car and try to show off, we know if its manual or automatic tranny) let just say this...

Uhm, true, no doubt if we could pick a 5 spd. We would, most can drive 5 spd. I know I can, I have an auto tuff luck. Bought the car with 22k miles. For 5K off my uncle. Its not worth it to sell it now and buy an Rs or I would. Finding a GS with low miles is out of the question too.

For those of us that are stuck with our cars ( not like its a bad thing) we enjoy them. Some of us just cant afford anthing else, for me college is a big investment. I managed to do all the Big things on the car before this, so now I just buy little things here and there.

I wouldn't have a 5 speed over my AT. If it were a street car yeah, but I'm drag only and kill comparable 5 speeds all day. Whatever though... each car is built for different purposes.

I'll post some of my timeslips as soon as I change to a T4 compressor and up the fuel system. My T3 compressor is maxed out at ~22psi.

well to the auto haters...(you knew this would come up) At least we will never miss-shift! hahaha :P

try getting head in a stick driving on a road with lights etc...not gonna happen, i love my a/t, plently of road dome<----only thing that really matters!

^^^ Uhhh not so sure about that... I dunno about you guys' cars, but mine kinda hates life at 15psi+. The TCU *FLIPS OUT* when it figures out you're doing a 250hp burnout. I think its melted or something though.

FYI, I like my auto RS-T. Scared...not even close. Also not all chicks like sticks. Guys like chicks that drive stick. I know I love my girl, and she drives a 5 spd GST Spyder...modded}(

I have no problem with auto cars. I just wouldn't want to own one. :P

I think AT's are faster. they throw themselvs into gear. they are never out of gear wasting time. But i got a MT and I can't stand AT cars. They just arent fun to drive.

i hate people who talk shit. i have a auto, but i can drive stick just fine. why auto? got the car when i was 17 yrs old before plus i did not want to deal with stick and traffic etc etc. im from so cal man. all i got to say is bring it on.}( ..once im on the road again and someone like yourself talks crap all you will see is my lights from a very far distance.:o just to remind you i can drive stick.

I think our greatest strength is that everyone expects us to be slow. My auto motor and trans have been rebuilt and I've got a T3 waiting to be installed. I just need an intercooler and injectors now.

My trans wont melt/explode/mis-shift or stop pulling ;-)

Hell I didn't want an auto. This thing is big and bulky and heavy as a mothafuka BUT, I got a great deal on the car and it had everything on it already. Can you say SPARCO's?

I should be turning the key this weekend }( Wish me luck!
