Just put the 8 injector setup in last week, as of today, the car is at 13psi. I said my mbc was leaking in that 5.0 war stories post on aseclub.net, but the mbc is fine, think it was the bcs i used for the diy dual stage bc that was leakin, took it out of the setup and now i can raise and lower the boost as i want, ill prolly bump it up to 15 tomorrow

sorry, no pics of the 8 injector install, didnt have the digi that day. only pic i have is this one, both rails are connected in seires, heres the line from the primary to the secondary rail. running 270cc primaries, 440cc secondaries

sfmu is off the car, aeromotive 1:1 fpr is on

Unfortunately, the nuespeed bar doesnt clear this fpr, unless i use spacers, but if id i do, the fuel line rubs on the tb (caused a pinhole leak after about 2 days of running that way, so i took the bar out and put the fpr against the firewall.)
Going to relocate the battery into the trunk soon, so ill prolly move the fpr into that spot so i can put the bar back on.

also added a missing link to protect the map from high boost pressure

engine shot (please ignore the blue wire loom...its just remnants of my rice days and i havent got a chance -read:dont give a phuck enough: - to change it to black yet)

Anywho, tuning is coming along fine, car is still rich, egts are good, and the car is running better than it ever has

Next week or so ill be adding the profec b, wrapping the dp, moving the battery to the trunk and other little misc things. Hope to get the car to a dyno in the next month or so to get everything tuned for 18psi...or maybe ill be like mark and throw some 103 in and see how it does at 22psi, i dunno, we'll see

i think i just spun a bearing........ :(

was at 14 psi tonight, launched it a couple times, on the 2nd or 3rd launch, the car went into limp mode (where the atx stays in 2nd...)

well, i didnt notice until the tach hit just shy of 8K rpms :o usually the car will just bang off the rev limiter, but this time, for whatever reason, the rev limiter was no where to be seen (?????)

so i pulled over, shut the car off, restarted it it, to get it out of limp mode (this happens when i try to hold the rpms to high on the launch, but this time, there was no rev limiter, i have no idea why ??? stupid atx needs a high stall tq-conv')

as i pulled into my neighborhood, went into a boost at like 1/3 throttle, heard this wierd resonance, so i stopped, popped the hood, and heard some wierd noise..drove to my house, went into boost one time at partial throttle, and then as i pull into my driveway, i hear knocking, pretty loud knocking... no smoke or blowby, just knocking :wary

im guessin spun bearing...i dont know what a collapsed lifter would sound like...and i hope thats all it is, but i dont think so, sounds like some knock from the bottom end to me :/

SOOOOOOO, can u change rod bearings w/o pulling the motor? is there any way of confirming/denying it is a spun bearing?

Sucks to hear. Drop your oil pan and you can get to the rod bearings easily. It should be simple to take one off and have a look.

Probably no fuel cut because the 034 EFI controlled secondaries were providing enough fuel for you to not notice when the ECU shut the primaries off at 7200rpm. the initial rev limiter is a fuel cut, so if you're provind ign fuel through some othe rmeans, then it doesn't exactly work as planned. That also means you may run very lean at RPM > 7200 RPM due to the ECU trying to shut down the primaries.

Does the 034 take any sort of cue from the ECU as far as injector timing, or is it all RPM/MAP/scalar based?

The EIC is completely independent of the stock ECU (except for RPM signal). The EIC has its own rev limiter. You can set the rev limit and adjust how agressively it cuts fuel at that limit. I never thought about the two rev limits dissagreeing with each other (I guess I thought the stock limit was enforced through ignition).

i need to check it again i guess, but i could have sworn i had the eic fuel cut at 7300rpms, but i dont know how aggressive the cut it is. I guess it could have been passive enough to still keep pulling before the ignition cut occured

I also thought the stock ecu used ignition cut, but i guess not :/

ignition cut @ 7800RPM
fuel cut @ 7200RPM

Damn Ryan. Sorry to hear about the breakage. Hope its just the rod bearings and not piston damage.

What did you have your rev limiter set to?
