ok, so the directions say to put it under the car back by the stock regulator....i noticed someone mention that it needs to be put in the engine bay, which i like the idea of....i don't want it that close to the ground back there....so how do i do this? what lines to do i tap into?

is its the regular fmu leave it where it is cus it works with the stock fpr. if its the sfmu then put it in the engine bay and run a return hose back to the tank. don't use the stock fpr so either take it out and plug the hole, or take the whole assembly out (fpr and fuel filter) and put in a generic fuel filter in line. *I got some write ups coming up.. just need to hand them over to Dino for posting*

I would still keep it in the engine bay. If I'm correct the fmu goes in the return line to the tank. So you might as well keep it up front where it's easy to see and access. You would have to run a return line back to the tank from the FMU. I have a 95 mind you so i have not had to do this before, this is just off the top of my head.

If its the regular one that comes with the kit. keep it here. as it needs to plug into the stock fpr that is located under the car by the rear tire. no need to run those long fuel lines if you don't have to. to put it in the engine bay you will need to run a line from the stock fpr all the way to the engine bay and then one all the way back from teh fmu (in engine bay) to the gas tank.

Yeah so I have no idea how this works on the later model cars. Just so I can learn though, what do you connect to the old FPR? I ask because if you have to run a vac line from the front of the car to the rear wheel area that is going to be a pain and you will still have to run the return line for the fuel as well correct?

there is no return line from the fuel rail on 97 and above (and some late 96 i believe) under the car you run a line from the old fpr to the FMU and then a short return line from the FMU to the tank. so you only have to run a long vacuum line to the back of the car, nothing else.

Yeah your right about the non rail return. Thank's for the info. I just knew that on the 95's all you had to do was un hook the stock FPR.
