Tim, the catch can grabs any oil that get's "Blown by"...I don't get ANY blow by (hasting rings), so this catch can is way extreme for me. Some people get as much as a shot glass of blow by in the catch can on hard runs ect ect...that is pretty normal....I think it really depends on the condition of the engine. I can tell you this, if you break any ring lands you will find your catch can filling up with oil so fast you can't keep up with it.
If you look at this pic you can see my catch can is just connected to the breather tube...

Granted this is a crappy pic of where the catch can is. But you get the idea...

Yeah, you just run a line from that nipple on the right side of the valve cover, and put in into a catch can. The excess pressure from the crankcase, and blow by from the PCV valve, get pushed out that line, and oil will come with it. I get some blow by, but most of it is excess boost pressure coming from the PCV vavle, cause that leaks boost pressure somewhat..

Do you have to buy these, or can you fabricate them. And where else are you guys mounting them?

you can buy them but most use modified vitamin bottles and they work just as well for under $10.

Real easy get the 1/4 fitting from a hardware store, then get te 1/4 line and just connect the valve cover to the catch can and then run one of those small filters at the top you are going to need another 1/4 inch fitting for the filter

Here is mine. A Vit C bottle painted black, and a small breather filter bought at Autozone for 8 bucks. Drilled a hole in the cap for the filter, and just pressure fit it in the hole. Then put a hole in the side of the bottle, for hose barb, then connected that with a hose that leads to the breather barb on the valvecover. Piece a cake :) To drain oil, unsrew the cap, and tip over(into a container of course) I have the bottle wire tied to the big wire harness right there infront of the battery.

dang that's pretty cool

RXR eclipse how did you mount your catch can? It look like one similar to time. Haha mine is just held on by zip ties.

My can has two mounting bolts on the side where the old air box fit. So I just used those. It just happened to be that there are two holes already drilled there for some mounting shit, I really could not tell you what was mounted there before. It was a pain in the ass to mount I can tell you that.

I just made one over the weekend out of a empty can of pvc cement. I used that cause I was worried about hot oil melting a plastic container. And instead of useing a breather filter on it I just ran another line to the air filter. So far I have not seen a drop of oil in it. :thumbsup
