48330, 8 Injector setup, wiring question
Posted by RyaN95i4, May-07-03 06:09 PM
I was installing everything for the 8 injector setup today. this evening, when i thought i had everything all done, reconnected the battery, put the key in, and as soon as the fuel pump went to prime, all the dash lights cut out. from then, turn the key and got nothing. so i disconnected the spliced wires @ the ecu harness, reset the computer, and still got the same - nothing.

so i checked the fuses and i blew a fuse.

so my question is, what wire are you guys using for the ecu power wire. Are u using any kind of inline fuse after you splice off that wire. I was using what i thought to be ecu power (black wire, white stripe. pin #14 on corbin's ecu wire list - ignition switch). Is that the right wire? if so, do i need an inline fuse to keep from blowing that fuse? if not, what is?

anywho, i took the fuse out of the radio/vent spot and put it in the ignition spot, and the car runs, but the eic isnt hooked up...

i was wondering this also. does it matter what wire you tap for the 12+ for the switch for the relay? do we just use the main 12v for the relay?
also make sure your wires are hooked up correct, and none are bare etc. did you add a fuse from the battary to the eic?
cool

IIRC, I powered mine through a relay off the battery switched on by the ECU power.

i was looking at Corbin site, and it has one wire from the battery 12v to a fuse to the relay..
then
a stock ECU power to th relay, so for this wire do we just tap the main power (12v) at the ecu?
correct me if im wrong or whatnot
thanks

I'm using the wire that powers up the ECU when the ignition is on (not using a fuse here). Thats Pin 14 Black-White stripe for the 1995. That is the trigger for my relay. Relay gets its power through a fuse from the battery. Maybe you hooked up the relay wrong or something? If you blew the "ignition fuse", then somehow you directly connected the ignition wire (pin 14) to a ground.

Hey guys, i rewired it today, and everything looked ok, and this time it started up fine.

as i was putting the wires away tho, i noticed the wire coming off the pin 14 ecu wire looked like it got pinched b/t the battery and the fender, so thats prolly how it got grounded and blew the fuse.

anywho, the car is running now, just got a small fuel leak @ the supply line/1st rail i need to fix and im good to go

just want to thank everyone, especially Corbin, Matt, Jason and Brian from aseclub.net, you guys have been a huge help with this new fuel setup so far :thumbsup

Just got back from the 1st test run, its running REAL rich right now, heh

at 11 psi, the car is slower than it was yesterday at the same boost, but all the way to 120mph, egt's were pegged at 1450-1475 (probe in the manifold). o2 voltage was well over 1.0v as well

i got this eic from matt, who had it tuned a tad rich for 15psi, and hookin the laptop up to the eic shows that. so im gonna work my way up to 15 psi and see how it does

thanks guys
