47534, Thx a Million 2GNT. HRC stage II is now up and running.

I just wanted to extend my gratitude to all the members of 2GNT for making this one of the best forums for car enthusiasts out there. And another big thx to the admins and mods that keep us all in check.

After much trial and error my 1999 Barcalona Red RS is now running under forced induction via HRC Stage II and Hahn FMIC. Here are some milestones/roadblocks I encountered that I'd love to share with you:

-- Bottom down pipe bolt on the HRC down pipe is...well...GOD DAMN! What a PITA. I don't know how you guys got it on there. Brian (DR1665) ended up dremeling the living crap outta that bolt so it would fit right.

-- HRC provided exhuast manifold bolts....Do0d, I should have done myself a favor and just replaced them with 4g63 studs. That and I'm not the biggest fan of Allen bolts anyway. I'll blame that on my lack of decent tools.

-- Stock downpipe modification. The hahn instructions say to cut it back 2½ inches. I had mine cut 4 inches so it would fit into the HRC downpipe.

-- Aux Fuel Pump. This thing sucked. I don't think I would have such a beef with it but I have this thing agains wiring inside of cars. If I were to do it again I would have just got a bigger intank pump.

-- Hahn FPR. I didnt think it would be a huge problem but I noticed that everytime I started the car it would be a different story. Idle fuel pressure is random at best. 40, 38, 58, 50, whatever. Always different. I thought I had a problem but a quick search of the 2gnt archives says to me that this is pretty common. Get a vortech.

-- Missing/Wrong Parts. Man oh man. This was the bane to my existance. The first lil mess up was the bulkhead fitting for the oil pan. That little washer with the rubber insert was sent bent as all living hell. Completely unusable. Easy fix, had that bulkhead fitting spot welded to the oil pan. No way I'm leakin there! Second thing was I was sent the wrong 90 degree fitting that screws on the fuel filter. I tried emailing the tech dept at Hahn 80 billion times but to no avail. I tried calling but got nothing but voicemail and no return calls. I've heard wonderful things about Hahn tech support but unfortunately I did not get any experience in that. After a week I finally gave up and home depot'd that little problem.

-- Messed up intake manifold. The little bit of research I did do told me to pitch the whole Hahn FCD idea and get the proven Missing Link. The problem I had (which some of you remember) was that the whole where the MAP sensor went was badly scored and chipped. The O-ring on the ML was too small to seal up the chips ans scoring. Home Depot fix #2, shit load of black gasket sealant.

-- Instructions. The Hahn instructions are wonderful. They explain everything in and out, very detailed. The only issue I had with the instructions is that it did not have any pictures for the piping on a FMIC isntall. Was like a damned jigsaw puzzle.

So, it's all done. Took almost 3 months off and on but its done. Special Thx to John (run4cvr) for enduring my dumbass no0b questions. Special Thx to Brian (DR1665) for help on the weekends and his unique sense of humor. And once again, special thx to everyone at 2gnt.

Unfortunately I have to sell my baby. I'm going to be finishing up the front facia cutting to fit the FMIC and then putting her up for sale. I hate to see it go but I just cant afford both the SRT-4 and Eclipse. If ya know anyone that wants it, shoot me a pm or something. But anyway, Thx for the help guys, I started installing this kit barely knowing how to do my own oil change. You guys are the greatest! :thumbsup

...sorry for the sp errors

you think that's bad, I called Dino almost every day. But sorry to see it go so soon, especially after the turbo went on.

the common lesson learned by most turbo installs (including mine) is that...

home depot rocks.

Damn, seems like a waste to go through the trouble and expense of installing the kit and then just turn around and sell it. Oh well....
