47321, Accel Dfi - Question Posted by esseclipse, Apr-22-03 04:54 PM
I have a 99 Eclipse with a HRC Stage II and I am in the process of making it a stage IV. I want to know if I should wait for the Accel Dfi gen 7 from HRC or if I should just buy the gen 6. I heard the gen 7 will control our ignition and timing retard...is this true? Should I wait or go Stage IV now....

Wait for the Gen 7, the thing is bad ass. Just as good if not better than the AEM unit IMO.

The features and operational logic that the GEN VII offers simply surpasses anything out there, and likely will for a while (many of the processing technology aspects are patent protected).
We expect to have a 2GNT intended version within the next month: it is being deveoped on Ol' Reliable (our 98 RS) as we type.
We will post more info to our website when ready, and I will fire off a post here as well at that time.
Boost It! Bill

Haltech is a beautiful system...but the only thing is it truely is a fully programmable system....you have to enter in factory numbers....so there is alot of work when tuning one....but what i have heard they are a hardcore ecu
Performance: Stuff that makes my car run better or go faster
Looks: Stock because looks doesnt make my car go faster or run better

The DFI should be very nice for timing and fuel, etc. once it's set.
If you did want to go full stand alone I like the Electromotive TEC-3.
