My Vt comp. shortblock came in today. It looks really sweet. They did a really nice job. All I need to do now is finish gathering everything for the 8 injector setup, some gaskets, timing belt and other little things and 15psi here I come! Should I go to Chrysler for all the gaskets or does someone else sell mopar gaskets? Also does the oil pump get a gasket or just rtv stuff/? TIA

Awsome man! I'll be out at VT on Saturday, as its their special "DSM dyno day" event going on, so i'll get to meet and check the place out.

I suggest getting all Mopar OEM replacement gaskets. They have a complete upper end gasket set for around 100 bucks. Should come with everything you need gasket wise. The oil pump-to-block needs that special anerobic sealant, the one that is used on the bedplate to block. You can get it at the dodge dealer also, comes in a black/pink tube, and the stuff is like red jelly. Follow the 420A overhaul manual diagram on where to put the sealant( the manual links in Juggolo's sig). This special sealant cures two metal pieces, when there is no air present(anerobic).

When you are there Find out what they use insetead of the red anbionic sealer because the stuff they used on my motor looks black. I also have stuff from threebond which acts like the anbionic sealer but is alot better, I use it on the cases for jetski engines which use the anbionic sealer also because it has to squish down to a certain thickness. I wonder if ti would work for the pump. I believe it is threebond 1211.

Yeah, i would think any good anerobic sealant will be just fine. I know there is some green colored stuff out there too. I'll try and remember to ask em when i'm there..

The bedplate sealant I got from the Dodge dealer like a month ago was green and the one I got from the Chevy dealer was red. Both anerobic sealer. I don't think the color matters.

hey extreme97nt,

how long did it take to finish from the time you ordered till the time they get there?

also it was around 1600, did they ship it to you so how much was shipping then?

Well it took about 3 weeks from the time I shipped til the time I got it back. And I also had to find a crank so that held them up. So in other words the turn around time was superfast. Shipping back to me was 150 common carrier. I paid 45 ups to send it to them but once it was complete the weight was over the 150lb ups limit.
