Posted by 97eclipseRS, Apr-16-03 05:05 AM
i know many people have broken them, and i'm wondering where you got new ones, or better ones other than going to hrc. i also need to find the turbo inlet gasket between the mani and turbo. thanks alot.

I took my broken ones to Ace hardware and they were able to match them up... When i asked about something better they said "Dude, those things are already grade 8" I don't think he knew what he wanted to say.

which wide should thread into the turbo itself? the short or long side? i'm assuming the long, but the way they were on there before, the long end was the one sticking out for the dp, but since it was so long it actually made a huge indent in the dp, so i'm assuming they were in backwards.

short side goes in the turbo. You can get a new gasket for the turbo to downpipe from HRC. Its like 5 bucks. I am assuming those are the studs you are talking about...

yeah those're the studs, but the long end hits the dp if you put them in that way. there seems like there's plenty of room for the long side on the turbo end. is there a reason the short side is supposed to go into the turbo?

haha, don't worry about it. the reason why i'm wondering is b/c i could only find studs that were a bit longer, so there's no way the long side would fit on the dp. great, now all i need are those gaskets. i'd rather not order them directly from hrc... do you think that an auto distributor could order them? if so, from where?
