46611, stock unused vac tee (pic) Posted by 97eclipseRS, Apr-11-03 08:52 PM
while dismantling my engine bay, i noticed this vac tee w/ the tee capped off. just wondering if it's ok to use, or not. can't see why they would put it there and cap it off, so i wanted to make sure it wasn't a non-functional tee, or valve or something. can't start up my car yet to find out.

it goes to the leftmost barb on the mani

where does the other end of the line go to? By the "leftmost" barb on the mani, do you mean that 3 way Y barb on the mani? See what that line goes to, then that may help to see if its good or not

That unused vacuum tee can be found under the cruise control servo box on the passengers side of the car. It is a test port for the EVAP Emissions Ventilation solenoid. I also saw that tee but decided to play it safe and not use it since I wasn't sure if it was a dependable source. I simply used another tee on another vacumm line coming directly off the intake manifold.
If anyone has the Mitsubishi Factory Service Manual, it is on page 17-46 of volume I (Chassis and Body).
Hope this helps, Kurt

it's connected to the leftmost barb on the 3-way tee from the mani, and then connects to a hardline right at the left of the cam gears when facing the pass. side of the car. i'm not sure if i'll need it, but it's always nice to have an open tee if needed. thanks
