At Howell I thought they had a rebuild kit for our engine for about $1100 but at MachV it's half that. What gives?

you sure it is for the 420A and not the 4g63? and does it come with all the same stuff, like gaskets, bearings, oil pump...not just pistons and rings?

Oh maybe they do come with stock parts. There is a kit available for 2.0 NT DOHC 95-96 and 97-99. Check out this link. They aren't very clear but I'm guessing they do just use stock parts. Damn. x(

Yup, that's an OEM equivalant kit.
