tap the mani and screw in the probe, run the wires inside to the gague. Then connect the power for the gague to something like the cig lighter that only powers up when the car is on. then run the light on the gague to the black/yellow and green wires behind the power mirror bezel on left of the steering wheel. this will pake the light come on only when you dash lights up. :+

question though. on the greddy egt's there are 6 wires contained in two plugs. one plug(2 wires) goes to the probe, no problem, but the other plug has 4 wires(black white orange and red) now according to the instructions, the black is the ground, the white is for the lights, and the red is ign(+) and the orange is const 12v. this doesn't make any sense to me. shouldn't the ign power be enough? why would the gauge need an ign 12v and another const 12v source? can anyone w/ a greddy egt shed some light here? how should i hook it up? i'm thinkin' of just runnin' both orange and red to ign. thanks

don't wanna jack your thread remy ;), just thought my question might help u too.

My guess:

2 wires to egt probe (containing ohm load from probe)
2 wires to egt gauge (containing constant 12v)
2 wires to gauge lighting (containing variable voltage 0-12v)

This is so you can dim the gauge lighting with your dash lights. If you dimmed the gauge power itself, it would read wrong because the circuitry inside the gauge needs a constant 12v. So they wire the lighting seperately inside the gauge. Check greddy's site if you need detailed wiring instructions.

well that's what i would figure... one power for lights, then another for the gauge itself, however there is another wire supposedly for 12v constant, which i can't understand the need for and am not sure where to wire to. i checked greddy's site, and they pretty much say the same as the instructions i have. it says:

2 wires - probe

4 wires - gauge: red - 12v constant
orange - 12v ignition
white - 12v lighting
black - ground

like i said, i don't see why you would need the 12v constant, or even exactly what they mean by that. do they want it to have power even w/ the car off?

coo, sounds good

about the gauge, it's not the peak greddy gauge, just the regular egt. i dunno, i just wired them both to the ign 12v
