what size wire do you need for the walbro to do the upgrade rewire.. anyone have an exact list of what is needed.... if not just list the wire size... is it 8 or 4...
TIA

I think you can get a fuel-pump rewire kit from autozone or somewhere similar for like 20$, comes with all the relays and everything. Personally, id go with the thicker gauge wire.

good lord! there is no reason to use 4 guage wire, and 8 is really not necissary either. you could probably get the same results with 10 even. the pump requires what, about 5-10 amps at most, right? the difference in resistance between the 4 guage and 10 guage wire should only result in a voltage difference of xx.1 volts or so, and thats nothing to write home about.

for the relay part, youll wire it up as so:

terminal 30: constant +, wired directly to the battery (using the thinker wire)
terminal 86: ground
terminal 85: the previous wire that suppiled + power for the fuel pump and told it "when to turn on".
terminal 87: to the + connector on the fuel pump (using the thick wire)
terminal 87a: empty. make sure this terminal does not ground out, as it will be showing 12volts when the fuel pump is off.

this is just one way to wire it up, and the one that "makes the most sense". im not sure of other ways you could do it.

also, make sure to fuse the line coming directly off of the battery. if you are really picky, solder all the terminals into place on the wire to reduce resistance even more.

Will this do?

You'll probably want to connect the pump ground directly to the body with heavy wire (not through the stock wire). I forgot to show that in the write-up
