just curious what everyone with 310's and vortech sfmu and NO afc are running boost wise....i am at around 13 and thinking of just going to 16 with it.....later

13 was about the max i will run on those injects. Anything else will be really pushing it, as 13 is already quite a lot on them. I may try to get some 370 or so injectors to run a good 15-18 psi, and try and run low fuel pressure to make it all work without any AFC or anything else but the SFMU. I'm curious though, what are your fuel pressures at 13 psi? Prob close to 100 psi right?

yea i think about 90-95 not sure , i know my staticfuel pressure is set at35 and at 5 psi of boost im at 55psi of fuel.

Yeah that sounds very close to my pressures. I get about 30 psi static, and about 50 psi at 5 psi boost, and 65-70 psi at 8-9 psi boost. If your EGT's look good at 13 psi at 95 psi of fuel, then squeezing one or two more pounds of boost might work. I will guess to run 15 psi, fuel pressure will be around 110 psi. Thats a lot of pressure. Fuel injectors dont like that much pressure, but if you try it, be careful.

no thats alright..im just gonna have to get bigger injectors....i just dont want to get a afc then a btm to control the advanced timming...so do you know what the biggest injector i can use without the afc and just using the sfmu....thanks btw..i set it at 35 static instead of 30 because i ported the head and at 10psi of boost it leans out quick and then flys up to rich

You can run with 315 up to 14.5 psi at exactly 100 psi of fuel pressure.

yeah, but not every motor/setup will be the same, plus as the fuel pressure go up that high, it tends to not be so linear. If you need 100 psi to run 14.5 psi boost according to the chart, real world fuel pressures may be well over that. From what i have heard, anything over 80-85 psi on an injector, is pushing it pretty hard. But i know when i ran stock injects i hit almost 120 psi on them before, and they still worked good.soooo..If anything, i say no more than 15 psi. Its just not a very good idea to run that high of fuel pressure. YOu can go the route i may take, by getting 36/37 lb injectors (equals 370 cc or close), and just run lower idle fuel pressure to get the fuel trims looking decent. IMO, that would be the largest injectors to use on the ECU without any SAFC or other means to correct for larger injectors, and by just using the SFMU and fuel pressure adjustment. With the 370cc or close size injects, you should be able to run upwards of 17-18 psi i would think.

cool...armond30 said you can use 440's with out the afc with the 2.72", but 370's sounds a little less difficult....whats the static and idle fuel pressures on 370's and what disc are you using?....still using the 2.72"? thanks jason

Well i'm still on the 310's, until i get my car back together and running. Once the motor is broken in, i may get the slightly larger injectors, so i dont have any real world numbers to give you yet. I dont think anyone on here is using them either. I will guess using the 2.42" or 2.72" disk, bleed valve for fine tuning. I will try and run a idle fuel pressure around 18 psi, static about 25 psi? I dont think i will be able to get my fuel trims close to stock, but enough to get it decent. I'll just have to try and see what happens.
