aight..i need some help from the guys using this unit and also a little knowledge ...when 420avenger datalogged my ride i was running 11 psi if i remember right and it was seening 17 degrees of retard at wot...is it a standard value that everyones seen? i'm going w/ the dis 2 b/c i want to run around 18-20 psi daily and i know that we need some timing retard b/c our ecu just isnt made for that...so whats the standard value that is needed at 20 psi, or even 23..i would like to run that w/ race gas at the shootout this year...my tires are going to die..ha ha...should i set the dis 2 to go incremental w/ something like a half degree per lb of boost? what are some of the big guys running?? i have the setup to run high boost and would like to show a buddy w/ a 2003 supercharged SVT Cobra what my litte 4 banger can do...he pulls a car length on me at 15 lbs so i figure his 390hp ass will go down at 20 lbs...that pretty much what i'm shooting for right now..i figure i will be safe w/ 94 octane, timing retard and my 550ish ccs of fuel ....what do you guys think??

I'm interested too. I hope to run 20PSI on race gas at the track too. Can someone give us a hand here?

Did you get the regular DIS-2 or the programmable one?

If you got the regular one - Did you get the Multi-Channel Boost Retard Control(PN 6562)? It's designed to work with the DIS ignitions. The DIS-2, will NOT let you retard based on boost out of the box. You need the Boost Retard Control to do that.

If you got the programmable one - Did you get their MAP sensor? You'll need it in order to programm a boost sensative timing curve.

Wish I could help you with the actual standards for the timing curve, but I don't have any of that stuff yet. I always imagined that it was more of a hunting game than anything else. Something like, turn the boost up slowly till you start to detonate then pull some timing(at that boost level) till it clears and move forward. Then after you get the car to run with a few pounds more than you could if you didn't have the timing pulled, you will have found a general ratio - degrees to pull per pound of boost. Then the tuning would turn more towards testing the performance - how high can I boost before the timing starts to rob gains. Am I wrong about that?

And to answer the DIS-4 question, I'm not sure if anybody has one to absolutely verify that it works because we don't need one. The ONLY difference between the DIS-2 and the DIS-4 is that the DIS-2 handles 2 coil systems, whereas the DIS-4 can handle either 2, 3, or 4 coil systems. So the answer is - it should work, but you only need the DIS-2.

yeah its the programmable unit and i do have the 3 bar map w/ it, along w/ the dual ignition adapter...i should have everything i need to work on our car...i am currently running 15 psi and i want to turn it up to 18-19 to wax a ws6 in my neighborhood...i have basically 550 ccs of fuel w/ my stock fuel system and 30lb secondaries so i should have enough fuel to run it that high...i just need to know some settings for the guys that are using it, such as how much timing to pull per lb of boost, i was thinking like 1/2 degree or something per lb of boost...the crane guys have that dial to use, the msd software is pretty sweet and has a lot of badass features to make a grid...come on big dogs..need some assistance
