i'm planning on doing the injectors a day before the sfmu. can the computer and stock fpr control the larger injectors, so that the car is driveable?

you should be okay with 30lb injectors....not sure about anything higher than that.

Your car may run, but it will be VERY rich, and throw a CEL. You have to remember that you are running about 47-50 psi of fuel on the 30lbers using the stock FPR. I have to run about 20-22 psi of fuel to equal the same amount of fuel as the stockers at idle. I dont suggest it, but it will work..

hmmm, so the computer has not control over the stock fpr? i was under the impression that if it was too rich, it would lower fp besides lowering the injector duty cycle, don't know why i thought that. anyway, i'll just try and get them done in the same day. i just don't think all my fittings'll be here by the weekend :)

I had mine running like that for a week or so. I was waiting to hook up the SFMU like you. It ran noticeably rich but still ran fine. It had no power but it drove fine. (my 02 sensor was dead shortly after though :wary )

I had asked about this in another post w/ one response. I want to do the some thing w/ 30lb'ers BUT instead, use an adjustable FPR and recalibrate the Vortech FMU for the 30lb injectors. A universal FPR can be had from NAPA for around $8 as I was told. Can anybody put my idea to death, or confirm it so I can be more sure that it will work?

Yeah the main reason i suggested not to run it that rich, is it may damage your o2 sensor,and those arent cheap. I guess if its only a day worth of driving it would be ok, but i still wouldnt do it.

I personally think the issue is not about the base fuel pressure but about the lack of a rising rate. Regardless, you would be better off doing both at the same time.

Oh, I am not sure why I am the only one who can get away with it, but I have run 45psi static on 525's, 1:1 fpr, and the stock ecu. It was rich and flat in the middle but pulled nice up top and idled fine. This is still my current setup but with the addition of the E-Manage.

So in short do not try the adj FPR and a recalibrated FMU?
