4548, Relocated BOV flange Posted by Stan2gnt, May-03-01 04:11 AM
Well I wasn't really happy with the routing of the star stage 1 piping (all that room between the battery for the life of me I cant see why they made it that way (stage 2 routing seems more logical). So first I cut the pipe that goes to the compressor side (about 1.5" off the end) which allows the pipe to sit flat between the battery and engine and relocated the BOV flange simular to where the Hahn BOV is located. Now I can put my strut bar on, close the hood and have BOV (they say it can be done. I like my routing much better). As for the HKS standard BOV mine sounds nothing like the farting sounds I've heard others complain of or the farting sound in the audio clips I've heard. Mine sounds like what it is, air being released "sheeeeeeesh" (like when your telling someone to be quiet). Its not super loud but loud enough to hear very clearly. I thought I was going to upgrade for sound but until it doesn't flow enough I'm keeping it. Next stop interccoler piping!
